Truthfully?

It feels like a tattoo. No, I'm not being sarcastic.
Some people claim to feel nothing but pressure or a slightly irritating feeling and nothing more. Some claim that it is "annoying". Others admit that it is quite painful but not totally unbearable. Some say it tickles. How it feels depends on the person. Each body part, each person, and how their body tolerates pain, is different. None will report the same exact sensation.

The feeling can range from cat scratch to burning to electricity or just the feeling of being written on very stiffly with a ballpoint pen. In the end, getting a tattoo feels like getting a tattoo. Try it and find out. :)

Ladies should take note: You may notice that the sensation of the tattoo may be amplified if you're getting work done a week before or during your menstrual cycle...

I don't know where you're from, so I may be completely off when I say this. Please wait until you can legally get it on your own. Even if your parents say it's ok, most tattoo studios that agree to tattoo minors are complete crap. In most states (if you are in the US) they require that you be 18. It's the law. And if the artist is willing to break the law to bring in more business, there's no telling what else he's willing to do to cut down on costs, like reusing needles or not sterilizing equiptment properly. If you really want to get it done, PLEASE make sure they have everything they need to sterilize their equiptment. Ask to see their autoclave. Watch while they open up a new needle. And make sure you take a look at their portfolio to look at the quality of their work. Take a look at the line quality, whether it's uneven or straight. Look at how well they do their shading. And don't feel like you have to go to the first place you see. Please remember that you get what you pay for.

If you meet the minimum age requirement, then I apologize. I just wasted a lot of space and time.

Your back is your biggest canvas, and it's wasting space if you end up wanting more. Personally, my fist tattoo was a celtic knot on my hipbone.

The pain isn't nearly as bad as people say. The outline hurts the worst, which is what yours would be composed of by the sound of it. It feels like you're dragging a saftey pin across your skin repetedly. Shading is interesting. It feels like you're slapping a sunburn. Each time they go over an area, the heat intensifies. It's not unbearable, just weird.

I don't think you should get a tattoo. And it has nothing at all to do with your age. I love tattoos and I hate when the art form of tattoos is treated poorly. If you have to ask what to get then you shouldn't get one. A tattoo is a very permanent way to show your soul to the world. It's not something that can be easily changed later. Your tattoo should be something that you CAN'T live without. I can't imagine my body without the tattoos I have. You should feel the same about any tattoos that you get.

i've always wanted tattoos when i was younger too.. but nothing that meant anything... and i'm glad now that i waited..i have a good/evil tinkerbell on each on my shoulders.. and even if i stop liking tinkerbell (doubt it) it's still like an angel/devil theme.

and on your lower back.. it seems too may girls get it on the lower back.. 'tramp stamp' or 'poop stain'. but still your decision...

and for the pain.. it differs for everyone and on the body part..but on my shoulder blades when i got my tattoos done.. some parts felt like the needle was not only jabbing my skin...but tearing the skin along the pattern....idk if that's just because i have a lot of bone there or whatnot.

I would advise you to wait until you're older. Chances are, the things that you think are cool at age 16 are NOT the same things that you'll think are cool at age 25, 30, 35, etc. You don't want to have regrets later.

Getting a tattoo should be special to you, and what other people think shouldn't matter. It's your body. And if you're 16, you have to have parental consent to get a tattoo.

Get something that means something to you and something that you're going to like forever. I got my zodiac symbol on my neck and I love it. The best way to describe the pain is someone scratching you on a sunburn very hard. While I was getting mine I thought I was going to puke then I thought I was going to pass out, then I realized I was sweating all over.

BAD IDEA!
the lower back tattoos are a sign of what most people refer to a "tramp stamp" (no offense meant towards you personally) but thats what most guys think
almost anywhere else is fine
good luck and don't get anything you'll regret!

It hurts...it feels like someone is carving into your skin. Make sure you check with your parents.
