I love skiing and have always dreamed of owning my own pair. I recently bought new high quality skis complete with boots, poles and bindings. Although it was all half off it still came out to $960. I feel guilty getting them since I'm a recent graduate and I go skiing only 2-4 times a year. Additionally all this global warming ruckus is getting me quite nervous at the prospect of there being a reduced snow season in the coming years.

definitely not. I'm going to school at SUNY Albany in upstate New York and theres about an inch of snow outside right now and its 12 degrees. My best friend went to school in Utah and hes already got a few days of skiing in this season. Global warming is a huge problem the wrecked the better part of last season but there were still plenty of great days. I'm not saying this to sweep the problem under the rug, but theres lots of places where the snowfall is still ridiculous. If you ever get a chance to go backcountry skiing in Canada or Alaska.....the powder was over my head....and this was last year.

wow, okay, first, there is PLENTY of snow on the slopes right now! I went skiing on November 6th in CO and it was perfect! Second, skis are like a car, they are a bad investment and they IMMEDIATELY loose value as soon as you buy them and EVERY year, they change in many ways. THere is no reason to ever buy skis, I ski a ton and I have only owned skis at one time for like a few months, but they came out with better skis so I started renting. Global warming should not be your excuse for returning them though.

dont return them!
even if global warming is going to stop skiing it will take a while
long after you die so enjoy it for the future generations!
It sounds like a nice set up you have
you might have to travel to get some good snow but it is well worth it
Try a week in Utah(where i live) the mountains are amazing and the snow is still unaffected by the warming situation.

SO GO SKI AND HAVE SOME FUN!!!
see you on the slopes!!

It's up to you. If you don't think you will get your money's worth out of them, then sell.

But you won't get anywhere near the price you paid for them. If your lucky...half. (oh, you haven't used them yet?) Gee, I don't know. If you got them on special, and the bindings are already mounted, you may not be able to return them anyways. You would have to check on that with the store.

I would just try to go skiing more, and enjoy it.

Global warming will (and is) affecting different places differently. Skiing may be fantastic in certain areas of the world for many years to come!

there will be lots of snow on your destiny, merely look at Europe. final 365 days all the headlines have been humming approximately how international warming might bankrupt the european ski marketplace, this 365 days distinctive ski inns in Europe opened till now than ever earlier. to alter your existence based any of those ridiculous predictions by using climatologists may be silly.

There are still the usual places filled with snow as not all have thinned out. Why not enjoy it when it's still there?
Happy skiing.

Depends on where you live.

Skiing in cold places like Canada or Colorado is only in a little bit of trouble. Enough to cause resort owners to worry about making money (slightly shorter seasons mean a lot to them), not enough to cause you to lose out.

Marginal ski areas in places like Virginia are in deep trouble.
