I want to buy a camcorder battery and a couple of PS2 video games. Has anyone had any problems with shopping on amazon for electronics or otherwise? I hesitate to use my credit card online and am worried about not recieving what I order or it being in bad condition. But, they have such good prices on things it's something I've been seriously considering.

Amazon is about as safe as online shopping can be. I've used it dozens of times with no problems.

I buy all of my electronics via amazon. Have purchased 2 cameras, etc.

Love Amazon. I highly recommend them.

I suggest you use a credit card that you rarely ever use when you shop on line. If it only has 3 or 4 charges a month, it is much easier to keep track of any charges you didn't make.

Good luck

It is generally safer than shopping at a store. If you are using a commonly used website with a secure server, like Amazon, you are LESS likely to have your information stolen than if you go up to your local Best Buy! It is easier to steal someone's credit card numbers by hand than it is to hack onto a computer or protected web server. I do it all the time, and have never had a problem with it.

I've never had a problem with Amazon.
Actually, I've never had a problem with any online purchases, and I've spent thousands on camera equipment!

If you're concerned though, get a credit card with a very small limit, like $200.
Use that, and pay it off each time.
that way if something bad does happen, there is a limit to your loss.

good luck to you

amazon.com is very safe and reliable. I don't know how much control they have over the used items (sold by people like e-bay does) but even with those, I've never had any problems.

I've used amazon three times this year. It arrives quick, you get what you want, and your personal information is safe. 4 weeks ago I bought Leopard for my Mac. :)
