That model number doesn't exist in the Mitsubishi line-up, but I know which one you mean. It's a close out since the replacement is now available, so you're probably getting a discount off the normal price.

I think mits. makes fine products and this TV is no exception. It's 1080p and has the ability to run at near calibrated levels without calibration. The addition of magenta in their color wheel has the effect of improving color space overall, which is helpfull during normal viewing.

The drawback of this or any other DLP TV is the color wheel. It's a moving part and has bearings. Mitsubishi's DLPs haven't had trouble with thier bearings like Samsung, and others have, but it's still a moving part, and may need service some day.

The answer to my bearing complaint is 3 DLP chips, one per color, (red green blue) but this solution is very expensive and we probably won't see it anytime soon on affordable TVs.

So in closing, I'd say "Go fer it!"

I have two hdtvs.
I would never buy one without going to the store and comparing them side by side. There is a world of difference in the quality of the image, even though the numbers are the same. One big difference is the contrast ratio. 800 to 1, 8000 to 1, 10,000 to 1...

how do you know?
Just walk down the row, look carefully at the picture without looking
at the price. If you find the one you really want but its too expensive, write the numbers down and look for one with the same ones. Or a smaller hdtv.

I had no regrets with either of mine.

By the way, stay away from plasma. The salesmen are pushing them HARD because they know there is no market for them.
Its a technology thats obsolete.
