I'm a Christian and I read and watch Harry Potter. There's nothing wrong with it. Sure the school's name contains "Witchcraft and Wizardry" But it's not like it's teaching you how to prasie the devil. It's a story about a boy trying to go through life with a dark wizard after him with a little bit of romance. Let him keep going, he'll get tired of it.

Tell him that you just like the story. You don't believe in witchcraft or magic. Give him the example of Peter Pan, you liked the movie but didn't try to fly after wards?

I am sorry, just try and talk to him. Make him listen- that really sucks for you... Harry Potter rocks.

Well, it might sound crazy but what do you suppose would happen if the next time he tries to pray for you, you just let him, and when he's done; politely say, "Thanks, I feel so much better now."
Then if he asks you if you STILL like Harry Potter, and you do, tell, "yeah, why do you ask?"

I'm a Christain, and I love the Harry Potter strories, go fig...

Sit down with him, explain to him that the "magic" in Harry Potter is nothing but fantasy. There is nothing evil about it and there are lots of good lessons to be learned. By the way there is nothing evil about real withcraft either. Anyway. As I've said my best advice is to talk to him and educate him. Sometimes knowledge is your best ally.

You need to talk to him, and tell him that even though you like Harry Potter, The magic and witchcraft isn't effecting you lifestyle in anyway. That its only for entertainment. That is my opinion on Harry Potter by the way. It is okay to like it, but don't let it effect you life.

Read this article (written from a Christian perspective on Harry Potter), and show it to him too:

http://www.gotquestions.org/Harry-Potter-Christian.html

Tell him you're aware of the negative elements in the book, but that you view it as purely fiction.

Tell him you had a dream and god told you that Harry Potter is the devil so you don't like him any more. If he's dumb enough to beleive in prayer, he's dumb enough to beleive this.
