James O is correct.
The British monarch's role is "Supreme Governor" of the Church of England. "Head" is ambiguous, even as applied to the Pope.
She cannot define doctrine, and cannot unilaterally change the canons or worship of the Church. That is done by bishops, priests, and laity in a representative Convocation, some portions or which are veto-able by Parliament.
She selects the two archbishops, Canterbury and York, from a list prepared by the Church.
This is based upon the role of the Byzantine Basileus (Emperor) in the Code of Justinian.
The title "Defender of the Faith" was an honor given by Pope Julius II (I think) to Henry VIII. Rather ironic and unrelated to the monarch's role in the Church of England.
The Archbishop of Canterbury is the president of the Province of Canterbury (1/2 of England) but he has become the spokesperson for the rest of the Anglican Communion, the 38 Anglican national "provinces" around the World.
He is the one who crowns the English monarch.
A weird system, built up over 1000 years, which sometimes works. Other times...

Yes.
Usually the Anglicans do not bad mouth the Catholic church-they are almost identical. Actually the Anglicans would reconcile with Rome, if the pope could recant past accusations against another queen.
Unfortunately the Catholic church (and the rest of the world) label all non-Catholics as "Protestants". This is not true.
Protestants should be Anglican (Episcopal) and Lutheran. And any offshoots there of.

Huh? I don't think so. Isn't it the Archbishop of Canterbury that heads it? The role of the British monarchy has no constitutional bearing on the Church of England, except to help appoint the bishops WITH the consent of the Ecclesiastical Commissioners.
The only difference between the Roman Catholic Church and the Church of England is that the latter disavowed papal authority when it was founded. Otherwise they follow the same dogma and rituals.
I could be wrong though.
Peace be with you.

Because they are to ignorant to realize it, no common sense. You have herd the phrase Common sense isn't so common anymore. They don't even know the history of how protestantism formed. How the reformers hated each other wanted to murder each other and did so.The ignore the fact that Luther was a sexually deviant and drunk hold him up as a hero, but castigate the Catholic priests over sex scandals when their own faith was formed from this lunatic monk who also had 3 wives at the same time and considered women to be only good to produce children till they died or only to be used as prostitutes or wives
