I was raised as one of Jehovah's Witnesses and everything you guys are saying is false. That was not a common teaching that the world would end in 1914. I never heard that and people as in every religion tend to latch on to their own beliefs, even if they are in the truth. Just because maybe a couple of Witnesses were ill informed does not mean that ll true Christians thought that way. It is so old having to hear all of the lies people spread about us. Lies based solely on ignorance.

The New Light Doctrine is based on Proverbs 4:18. When you read the entire chapter, it appears that the verse is often misapplied to changing doctrine.
A key point to remember, that is often missed is NEW Light, should NOT contradict the old light. This would mean an error in the previous teaching.
For example, regarding the generation teaching:
3 changes in 12 years. 1st- people alive in 1914 (adults, then babies), 2nd (1995) the twisted generation and as of Feb. 8, 2008, it applies to the annointed.
These are facts, not lies.
If u MOVE ahead of the old light, while it is current, you are branded an apostate, despite the fact you may be right. This means, if you refuse to accept an ERROR, you can be labeled an apostate.
hummmm, WhatWouldJesusDO???
Errors are OK until the Pharasies say something else.
New Light or CoverY@%RA$$ after making a mistake??
Some JW's are new to the org. and are unaware of the previous teachings. Old light is quickly forgotten by the faithful and denied by newbies.
The 2/15/08 WT has the new light of the generation only applying to the annointed. What a change!!! First the non-bibical belief of 1935 was disconnected from the annointed, (to allow young men on the Governing body) now another change.
Yet, the typical witness is unaware of any changes.
The end is sooooo close.

One can only imagine when they do not go with the bible alone
Here is a quote from the Watchtower 15-Aug-1981
"They say that it is sufficient to read the Bible exclusively, either alone or in small groups at home. But, strangely, through such 'Bible reading,' they have reverted right back to the apostate doctrines that commentaries by Christendom's clergy were teaching 100 years ago..."
And another from the Watchtower; 15-Sep-1910
"Furthermore, not only do we find that people cannot see the Divine Plan in studying the Bible by itself, but we see, also, that if anyone lays the Scripture Studies aside, even after he has used them, after he has become familiar with them, after he has read them for ten years - if he lays them aside and ignores them and goes to the Bible alone, though he has understood his Bible for ten years, our experience shows that within two years he goes into darkness. On the other hand, if he had merely read the Scripture Studies with their references, and had not read a page of the Bible, as such, he would be in the light at the end of the two years, because he would have the light of the Scriptures. "

i like it whilst people who have not have been given any theory answer questions. Jesus replaced right into a witness for Jehovah and Jehovah's Witnesses evaluate themselves Christians, yet greater heavily shaped after the 1st century Christians earlier all the Apostles died. first of all, witnesses have been talked approximately as Bible pupils and a few talked approximately them as Russellites. Witnesses observed the call Jehovah's Witnesses interior the 1931. Russell initially did no longer want them named different than to purely be talked approximately as Bible pupils. yet they did finally undertake the call using scriptures like Isaih 40 3:12 ""you're my Witnesses" says the Lord" in case you have ever taken the time to hearken to a JW or flow to a gathering, Jesus is a conventional concentration. God appointed Jesus to in actuality sit down in His stead ("place" for you youthful ones). Jesus purely choose replaced into to do his Father's will which he finished so completely that he advised his followers at 1Peter 2:3, "He that hath considered me hath considered the father". There are different scriptures that let us know that noone can see God and stay, so Jesus replaced into telling them that his strikes, character, ideals, and so on replicate those of Jehovah. on condition that Jesus gave his existence to purchase lower back what Adam misplaced, he grew to become "Savior" to many. That replaced into God's will. What correct to the announcing of God's call. some Witnesses call God by using Yahweh and there are different suitable translations. If i'm talked approximately as Jose incredibly of Joseph by using my mexican pals, i do no longer disown them. If Jehovah isn't the right translation, i'm advantageous whilst the time comes the God of affection will let us know incredibly than destroy us. do no longer a number of y'all experience stupid now.

This time of year it is more like how much more Hot Chocolate I can drink but to answer your question here is a couple of verses:
John 1:5
And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
Proverbs 21:16 The man that wandereth out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead.
People that are within this group have lots of scripture but no understanding Because darkness does not understand light.
The people that continue to follow this dis- organization of changing teachings are in the congregation of the dead.

I am glad that this is coming out. It will be gradual in order to minimize losses, but I would imagine that the 1975 witnesses will have had enough.
I wonder what they will do if after all of the 144,000 are gone and accounted for, if more witnesses come forward with the heavenly calling....How are they gong to deal with that?
At least mommyof1 is asking the right questions. She seems to be a seeking heartfelt christian.

They always explain their prophetic errors on being over zealous but the question is how many errors does it take before people leave in droves.

it was a major teaching/belief that the generation of 1914 would not pass away before the end. At least that was my view of it. 12 years active, ministerial servant and now 15 years inactive.

thank you for bringing this to my attention. Maybe this will be the straw to break the camel's back as far as my mother is concerned. Sad thing is, this will probably mean nothing to the newer people being misled by them.
