To know whether you are worshipping in spirit, you must first be in line with God' Holy Spirit, for without His Spirit, you cannot worship Him in spirit.
To know wheter you are worshipping in truth, your beliefs must be aligned with the "words written in red" and the other scriptures. How you are worshipping MUST agree with scriptures and as well as what you believe must be aligned with scripture. ANY deviation from what scripture says, (despite what some man/woman/organization has written contradicting what is ACTUALLY in scripture) and you are not worshipping in truth. That is what Timothy says to "make sure" this requires us to constantly be testing whether or not we are in line with God.

When it's about focusing totally on God and worshipping in your heart. You first lay things down at the altar, including any anger, bitterness, envy, malice or strife.
REmember what David said, God wants your sacrifice, not your praise. So, if you truly want to worship in Spirit and in Truth, remember the scriptures of David
Create in Me A Clean Heart,
Oh Lord, My God
And renew a right spirit within me
Cast me not away from thy presence oh lord
Return to me the joy of thy salvation
And renew a right spirit within me

Thumbs down can often mean that your in the spirit.Sad but true none the less.
John 15:25 "But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause."
Many today reject the truth, even some who profess to be christians. No one wants to be judged today, when actually we should seek judgment just ( Isaiah 1:17a Learn to do well; seek judgment..) as we would seek out an infimative that we might have within our bodies. We should have a love for the truth.
2Th 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they (received not the love of the truth,) that they might be saved.

Hay Girl! HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
If you really want truth. Get a good Bible, and pray for God to reveal his truth to you, and then read it. With an open heart, and he will give you his gospel. It is wonderful.

Because when I Worship I'm using my Bible and Praise tapes. I keep Jesus in my mind when I worship I believe the Bible and I know that I know, i know, I know that the Bible is true. I've had too many prayers answered that could not have happened without Jesus.

You have to examine what you are being taught constantly. You have to open your heart and mind to Gods direction through prayer, and you have to examine the scriptures for all they are worth.
Pray for Gods holy spirit to guide you to truth, and God will be faithful to you. that is his promise. But mostly, you have to research any questions or doubts that you may have about what you have been taught.

When you get your prayers answered on the spot!
Hosea 9:14-16 (NIV) (the prophet is improvising a prayer to the LORD!!!...) Give them, O LORD— what will you give them? Give them wombs that miscarry and breasts that are dry. (And God rushes to answer him on the spot!!!) "Because of all their wickedness in Gilgal, I hated them there. Because of their sinful deeds, I will drive them out of my house. I will no longer love them; all their leaders are rebellious. Ephraim is blighted, their root is withered, they yield no fruit. EVEN IF THEY BEAR CHILDREN, I WILL SLAY THEIR CHERISHED OFFSPRING."
God always answers our prayer if we ask him “according to his will”… even before we open our eyes!
Jeremiah 16:3-4 (NIV) For this is what the LORD says about the sons and daughters* (*babies) born in this land and about the women who are their mothers and the men who are their fathers: "They will die of deadly diseases. They will not be mourned or buried but will be like refuse lying on the ground. They will perish by sword and famine, and their dead bodies will become food for the birds of the air and the beasts of the earth."
May God’s sadistic pleasure endure for ever and ever…! and all of God’s people say, “AMEN!!! and AMEN!!!” Any Christian of a sadistic orientation will find a real Paradise in Heaven!

you are in the spirit, when you get lost in praise and in thoughts and the presence of the lord and in truth, when you know you are being honest with your self and God.

You hold the law of God higher that the law of man or religion. Worship and tradition are enemies where there is no hypocrisy.
