Either zip or using winrar...

Is it possible? That is to compress a bunch of compressed files.

You CAN add a RAR or ZIP to an existing compressed file. but it will not further compress the file.

The only reason to do this... that I can think of is to "package" the files, let's say you download a RAR, or Multiple RARs and then add your own files..but want them to be more portable so you can move them around... you could RAR/ZIP ALL the files together thus making it easier to copy/paste them or upload/download them.

That's the only reason I can think of.

By definition, a .rar file is already compressed. You can't compress a compressed file.

I tried this with winrar, it didn't seem to work. The actual size and the packed size were identical.... meaning that nothing was compressed.

You can compress them as many times as you want, but you'll pretty much just be storing them after the first time. They won't get much smaller.

You won't get much change; maybe 10k differenece, once compressed, recompressing doesn't do much at all.
