ok ther is this girl that i like. when we talk ther is about only 2/3 of a foot space between our faces. just put your hand in front of your face about that far . so how about you

That's really "all up in your face", which is way too close. The only way this is acceptable is if you are in a relationship with that person. Anytime you feel uncomfortable when a person is next you, is too close. Most people keep at least three feet between them and the person they are talking to. I live in Honolulu, which has a very good city bus system. There are some people, who refuse to ride the city bus for this reason.
Complete strangers standing on a crowded bus during rush hour traffic, it's like being in a cattle truck. This is very stressing to a person, who needs their space. For some reason a person is more comfortable if they get a seat, even though they are next to each, there is an invisible barrier between them. I hope I have answered your question.

it all depends where you have both been bought up (and when will the US come into the, at least, 20th century and start using metric) --- if in the country your personal space is about half a metre to a metre --- in the city its about 200 to 300 mm ---- unless you know someone well or just feel comfortable with them then its even closer
