My sister and I have a hard time buying for each other during the holidays. So we've decided to treat ourselves with matching tattoos...we were thinking using our mom's bday numbers (0623) Do you think with the numbers we'll look like we were inked in a prision...because of the 0623? Any do you have another ideas on a tatto significant to her and me?

Choose something you both share an interest in or something you did together as kids or do together now. For example if you both liked catching lightning bugs, get a lightning bug.

I don't think the numbers are a great idea unless they'll be with a picture that represents your mom and are done to be more obviously a birthdate. Select a picture that both of you can agree stands for your mom. For instance one of my aunts was a bingo fanatic and everyone knew it, so a card would work.

what about a ribbon and inside of the ribbon put june 23 and year of her birth in pretty cursive? You know what I mean by a ribbon? www.tattooblast.com like the one around the star and have the date of birth written on it. That would be pretty cool and wouldnt so much look like prison numbers. Good luck and have fun! I would love to get a tat with my sister but she is chicken! I am having my mom's portrait done on my shoulder. Take care.

It's a cute idea for sisters. But you are right. 0623 does look like a prison #. How about if you put your mom's name first and then below it put her Bday, but put it like 06/23/?? then the year. That way it's obvious that it's a birth date.

Who cares if it wont look right to others. If it is what you like and has meaning to it then it's a great idea. I have a tattoo in memory of my grandmom and the word is spelled how she said it because we always joked about it. Everyone points out it's spelled wrong and when i explain it they have nothing to say. So do what YOU want.

Numbers won't look like you were inked in prison.. if anything, people will come upto you and ask what those numbers mean, then you can explain to them what it is, why you got it, and why it's meaningful to you.

Hell, I have a prison OID number on me (my dad's from when he was in it) and I always have to explain what it is and why I have it.. No one's ever gone upto me and asked me if I've been in prison (or jail) because of it.

Talk to an artist. See if they can write the numbers in some more feminine writing. Or combine them with something like your mom's favorite flower...

If you want to get something to honor your mom, I think numbers are a bit weird. Get something that your mom likes or is interested in. Does she like a certain type of flower? My mom loved daisies, and I got a daisy for her.

I would get a picture with the numbers, because the numbers by itself might not look so good.

ummmm how about a tatoo that has an initial of your first name, your sister`s first name, and your moms first name. then make a word or something with the letters ex) if ur name is vanessa, ur sis`s name is nicole, and ur mom`s name is ally then you could make the word "van"

are you sure you want a tattoo as a gift?this can cause health problems when you get older..such as epatitis (sp.) or the ink can go into your blood and can become harmful..you think..is there anything else that's better to gove as a gift?..think twice..
