Lyrica is considered a narcotic for some stupid reason but it isn't actually. It contains no opioid medication nor is it addictive it is an anticonvulsant or seizure medication but it damn sure works on nerve pain.

I just found out when I went to refill mine that it is now on the Narcotic List. It didn't used to be, however I found it funny that when I first read the Drug Fact sheet on Lyrica it plainly states "This drug will make you feel High" in those words.

I agree with Scott S. above me!! It damn sure works!! Hope that helps!!

Lyrica is not a narcotic. It does have some side affects you should check out before you take it. This medicine is an anticonvulsant used to treat fibromyalgia and certain types of nerve pain. It is also used in combination with other medicines to treat certain types of seizures. It may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.

Pregabalin (INN) (IPA: [prɪˈgæbələn]) is an anticonvulsant drug used for neuropathic pain, as an adjunct therapy for partial seizures, and in generalized anxiety disorder. It was designed as a more potent successor to gabapentin. Pregabalin is marketed by Pfizer under the trade name Lyrica.

Recent studies have shown that pregabalin is effective at treating chronic pain in disorders such as fibromyalgia and spinal cord injury

It is considered to have a dependence liability if misused, and is classified as a Schedule V drug in the U.S.

It is not a narcotic. It is not locked up with the hardcore medications like oxycontin and ritalin. However it is a controlled medication, meaning the government does have tighter restrictions on it than most medications. For example if you wanted early refills on it you would probably have a harder time getting it than if you wanted an early refill on your birth control or asthma medication.
