God said to the people of Israel, "I give you this day good and evil, life and death. Choose Life that you may live"
Joshua said "Choose you this day whom you will serve, but as for me and my household, we choose to serve the LORD"
Jesus said "God so loved this world, that whoever (chooses to) believe in Him shall not perish.
Jehovah said, "I do NOT delight in the death of the wicked, that that ALL would come to repentance (choose)"
Choose, choose, choose - if we can NOT choose, it's all a travesty. God said choose. That means you CAN choose - that means free will.

This doesn't make sense. Scripture is man made. Even if God influenced it he did so through men. So mans hands are in it and so is God's.

It all depends on what you believe. From the history of written word perspecitve, since the bible is oldest book known, this principle can be said to be from the bible.
In actuality, once you consider that humans existed before the bible was written, it would be man-made since surely people chose what they wanted before there was a bible.

If man did not have free will then there would be no need for God to issue commandments.

God created humans as moral beings. Moral beings (humans and angels) have free wills.

God given free will. God lets you decide where you will spend eternity. We love Him because He first loved us.
