Faith with out actions is dead
they go hand in hand
If you have the faith you will do the good deeds of that faith
If you say you have the faith but do not deeds to prove that faith you did not have that Faith to start with

You are saved by faith because you believe in Jesus. It is your act of faith that get you saved, not by works, deeds on the other hand is what you do after you are saved.
Read James 2:14-26. God bless you.

Have you ever heard:
If your going to Talk the Talk, you must Walk the Walk?
Put your money (actions) where your mouth is?
Words are cheap?
Your deeds is how you show the extent and authenticity of your faith. Faith without works is dead and meaningless. There is no other judge of how deep your belief is in something except how well you live up to. Anyone can give anything lip service.

We are not saved by our works or deeds, but for those of us who are saved by Christ, through grace and faith alone- we will be rewarded according to the works we do in His Name.
Salvation is through faith alone= after salvations we will desire to do the work that He has willed for us to do, long before the creation of the world.

1 Corinthians 7:
"For we walk by Faith,
Not by sight!"
God follows the same Laws set for Man. His Faith in us matches our Faith in Him. And so we are saved.
Deeds may be good, or bad.
A Faithful person may be faithful in utterance alone and produce good deeds for the benefit of his reputation in the community.
A Faithful person may be "lukewarm" and produce bad deeds he thinks are hidden from the community.
An Unfaithful person may be rich and so, be able to produce many good deeds.
And a Faithful person, "hot" in his belief in the Lord, may be dirt poor, unable to produce a good deed, but steadfast against producing bad deeds.
The rich man may not enter heaven while the poor man will. The lukewarm believer can repent, ask forgiveness, and become red hot, thus entering the Kingdom. But, the faithful in word alone has not walked (produced good deeds) in faith, but in deceit. He too must repent before the rapture, or be lost to eternal damnation.

Even though we are saved by Grace through our faith our actions and deeds still have repercussions and we are still going to have to answer for them. Also we are told that we will show our faith through our actions. We however are not saved by them.

because faith usually produces a behavior change. But we are actually saved by grace.
I would like to see the verse you are thinking of. It might help to have it in context.

Salvation, and Judgement are not the same thing. By the Sacrifice of Jesus the Christ we will all be saved. That is we will all live again. It's his freebie to all of us. The thing is then... what have we done in our lives to show our worth? Our devotion? We all may be saved, but by our works will we be judged. Salvation unto Heaven, or Salvation unto Hell.
Peace.

deeds represent what kinds of people we are, but faith can redeem us. if you believe in it that is. Say if you harmed a creature on purpose thats a deed and you have faith that God loves you so he won't punish you..that won't work because you harm it on purpose.. But unless you did it by accident and you pray for forgiveness.

Good question. My understanding of Scriptures on this subject is simply this. Until we have "Faith" our "Works" are displeasing to God, they are but filthy rags before Him.
It is not until "After" we believe and are found "Righteous" in Gods eyes that the "Works" we do are pleasing to Him.
It's like this...When we boast of our own righteousness by the works we do, we diminish what Christ Jesus has already done for us. He is our salvation, He causes us to do the works that are pleasing to Him, we do not boast of the works we do, rather, we give all Praise and Glory to Christ Jesus for producing His works in us. This is the fundamental difference between Christianity and worldly religions. We give God all the Glory for the works we do, and we Praise Him for the free gift of salvation He has already offered to give us. Once we accept this free offer of "Grace" God will change us and mold us into what He has planned for us, in order to further His kingdom. We do not pick and choose which "Works" we will do in order to further Gods kingdom, we submit to His authority over us and allow Him to decide how He will use each and everyone of us for His glory. God Bless You..Peace.
