My b/f n I will be having our baby soon n I'm worried about bringing our baby to my b/f's dad's house n his mom's house. I don't mean to sound like a b*tch but this is how I feel, but maybe I'm also just too worried..The reason I don't really want to bring the baby to my b/f's dad's house is b/c I think it is really disgusting there (and it is) it has cockroaches, stains, permanently sweaty furniture, nothing is ever cleaned, if you walk around in socks the bottoms will be black, the house permanently smells like cig smoke, my b/f left his old dead snake in his old bedroom for months and i swear the house still smells like dead snake and the dead gerbils that were too big that he fed it LOL. Windows are NEVER opened in the house SERIOUSLY i don't think they are even capable of being opened. There is no clean air in the house. It is just plain disgusting I hate being there myself. It is an extremely old house in an unsafe town. Now take everything I just mentioned as an understatement

It is absolutely not rude of you. In fact it is your responsibility to look after the health and well being of your baby. You do not have to take your baby anywhere that you do not think it will be safe. That environment would definitely not be a safe place for your child. Invite the in-laws to your place so that the baby is in a clean environment and they can bond there. If anyone tries to throw a guilt trip at you just remind them of the staff infections that are going around that are very resistant to medications. Then remind them of how fragile a baby's immune system is and that you will not take any risks with your baby's health. You are the mom and you say what goes and what doesn't.

No, it's not rude. I don't bring my baby to either of my parents houses because they smoke in the house. If that place is discusting on top of that it's a good idea to not go there. The father of the baby should understand, if he doesn't now, hopefully he will when he sees the baby and how helpless & presious he/she is. The dad will get over it, if not, don't worry about it. He should clean his house if he cared that much.

WOW! That sounds pretty bad. There is really no polite way to express it, but that place sounds very unsafe for you, your bf, and for certain your baby. There has to be bacteria and other toxins on the surfaces and in the air. Keep away until the place is cleaned up. If they want to see you or your child, they will get with the program. The choice is theirs. For the sake of yourself and your child, you have no choice other than avoiding the danger.

If I were you I wouldn't want my baby going there either. Why don't you invite them to your house that way the baby won't have to be in that environment and your boyfriend's parents can see their grandchild.

Just invite them over to your place once in a while and always be prepared with an excuse if they invite you over...yuck, and yuck for having a baby with their offspring, because he's probably no better.

It's not rude to be concerned about your baby's welfare. If possible invite them to your house for visits instead of going there.

Simple solution. Sell your baby. You could probably get about $150 for it. Then, the problem is solved.
