I have been going out with my girlfriend for 7 months and have been through alot but she is now becoming extremely messy. I thought i might be some depression but i continues even when she is feeling happy. I clean her house and she hardly helps me. she rarely changes the kitty litter out and all of this eats my lunch. When I ask her about it or get upset about it she states that it is her house and i shouldnt try to change her but love her how she is. I dont want to change who she is just how she keeps house. what do i do?

Stop doing it. You are enabling her to be messy.

"I don't want to change who she is, just how she keeps house"....you do realize that's a semantic difference only, don't you? Your real choice is either to love her as she is, or move on. Everyone has things that are "deal-breakers" for them; there's no sin in that. But in most cases, your influence doesn't extend beyond your own nose, so assess this situation honestly and act accordingly. (You could just opt to stay out of her place, that way her housekeeping deficiencies won't be as much of an issue). Good luck.

people who let things go like that are usually in a state of depression. she sounds defensive and being defensive is her way of protecting herself from whatever it is she is believing she needs to protect herself from. depression is a very difficult thing to deal with.
