i asked this question because i see on DHC people refusing blood transfusions all the time and they end up dying

Jehovah's Witnesses. The Bible says to abstain from blood, so we don't eat it or take it into our bodies in any way.
Acts 15:28,29 ; Genesis 9:4 ; Leviticus 17:14.
We do accept many non-blood transfusion alternatives, in fact most health professionals agree that these are much safer, cheaper, and more effective that blood transfusions. Aside from the benefits of non-blood treatment though, we refuse blood transfusions because we live by Bible standards. It's as simple as that.

I respect all thoughts and beliefs. But That dosent mean I understand it. I guess it all seems strange to everybody. Everyone is entitled to there own opinion. Still Im clueless about that blood transfusion thing =\. Its Jehovah Witness

Jehovah's Witnesses refuse to get blood transfusions... this is because they consider blood to be a divine human quality that should not be tampered with.
"The official teaching of Jehovah's Witnesses regards blood as sacred and rejects allogeneic and pre-operative autologous transfusions of whole blood, red cells, white cells, platelets or plasma.[136] This is based on an understanding of the Biblical admonition to " abstain from ... blood," based on Acts 15:28, 29, and also on Leviticus 17:11,12, "For the life of the flesh is in the blood ... No soul of you shall eat blood," and of Genesis 9:3, 4, which they understand to be the first instance of "the Bible’s clear prohibition against taking blood into the body."

It is from the Old Testament where we are commanded not to eat blood. (Lev 17:10) The Jehovah's Witnesses have taken that and carried it over to IV blood since sometimes when you are in the hospital you have to get food by IV. It is totally and utterly ridiculous!!!
Why is a blood transfusion equated with food???
*Over 6,500 Jehovah Witnesses die every year due to refusing a simple blood transfusion.

jehovah witnesses refuse blood transfusions. you'd have to ask them why. i know but its hard to explain because it makes no sense to me.

There's a religion where the refuse to get blood transplants? Wow, I didn't know that. That is mildly shocking. Doesn't even make sense.
