Im in the process of making BBQ ribs. I have made them before, I slow cooked them all day at a low temp. Today I didnt have the time for that so I threw them in the crock pot with some water... they have been in there for 3 hours at a high temp and are still very tough. Any ideas?!

Ribs are best done slow. Put them back in and let them cook for at least 3-4 more hours.

If you are in a hurry, coat them with sauce, double or triple wrap in foil and put on a cookie sheet (in case it leaks) in the oven at 450 for 45 minutes to an hour. They will be tender and moist.

If putting them in water you only want them in boiling water for about 15 minutes...then put them in the oven for about an hour. then you don't run the risk of overcooking them.

I par-boil mine first in boiling water with an onion & bay leaf.
Then brown on the grill or in the broiler, & brush with sauce.
