Carpal Tunnel syndrome usually doesn't hurt in the wrist itself but causes the nerve impediment in the wrist to cause numbness and burning in the fingers and palm. After having 4 carpal tunnel surgeries I still had the same pain but never in the wrist. I was actually cause in my case by nerve inpindgment in my elbow. It imitated carpal tunnel.
Usually the burning and tingling and numbness start in the fingers and get worse at night.
Sounds more like a tendon issue but if it's really causing pain have your doctor get you an Electromylogram to confirm the nerve troubles.

If it keeps bothering you, then I'd suggest that you see a doctor and let them know about your pain.
