Some say you just have to believe in Jesus. But there seems to be more to it than that.

For example:
You have to be Republican

against women's rights

against gay marriage.

Against abortion, yet FOR the death penalty..

You can't believe in ghosts, EXCEPT the holy ghost

You can't believe in astrology, or aliens on other planets, BUT you are supposed to believe God made Everything (including stars and planets) for a reason.

You are supposed to believe that God is the master of your life, BUT you are also supposed to believe in freewill.

You are supposed to believe that when people die they go to a wonderful Heaven, BUT when someone you know dies you are supposed to cry like you will never see them again.

You are supposed to believe that proof of God is in creation, BUT you are also supposed to believe in God by faith only.

You are supposed to believe in one God only BUT you are also supposed to believe that other religions follow a different God.

No.

1. I'm not a Republican. Not a Democrat either.
2. Why would I be against women's rights? I AM a woman!
3. I have mixed feelings on that one. I'm bisexual, and at one point, I was in a serious relationship with another woman. We considered getting hand-fasted. So I do understand where homosexuals are coming from on this. However, I also know what the Bible says about homosexuality. On the other hand, the U.S. is a republic democracy, not a theocracy.
4. I'm against both, but I feel that the death penalty is a necessary evil. However, I don't feel that abortion should be illegal. Instead, it should be restricted, and we should be going after the cause of abortions, which of course in 99% of cases is unwanted pregnancies resulting from people being stupid about sex.
5. I believe in restless spirits.
6. I see nothing wrong with believing there's life on other planets. But there's no evidence to suggest that there is. I don't believe in astrology simply because my horoscope is always wrong.
7. I put my life in God's hands, but it doesn't mean that I can't do what I want if I choose to. Hence, free will.
8. Everyone grieves when someone they love dies. Regardless of whether there's an afterlife or not.
9. I don't believe in faith only. I need evidence.
10. I don't believe they follow a different God.

Don't assume. And you shouldn't stereotype.

Ok...you must believe that Jesus is the son of God and died for your sins to be a Christian. What it really boils down to is what you believe. In response to what you put...
1. No you don't have to be a rebulican...personally I think political parties are dividing our country...can you find anything about republicans directly...no.
2. Against women's rights? What the heck? Ok with the comming of Jesus all the laws of the old were knocked out of place, thats one of the things that makes Jews different from Christians.
3. God made marriage between a man and a women something very special and that it is bad for a man to sleep with a man. Keep in mind no ware does it say to hate them, thats just some Christains being...weird
4. I'm against abortion and for the death penalty and my relationship with Christ is strong.
5. We do believe in ghosts...in fact we believe there is an invisable spiritual battle going on all around us.
6. Where did you get the astrology thing...boy you are into steriotypes...anyway its cool that God created the universe and has a scientific explination for the stupid people on the planet.
7. the beleif one is phrased weird.
8. It's sad because sometimes you don't know if the one who died believed in the Father. Also isn't it hard not to see your best friend for a long time? Thats what we experience.
9. Through faith God speaks to us. Sometimes this is through creation.
10. They do! All Christians believe in one God. And not all people believe in our God. Their god does different things.

You are truly misguided.

Christianity has nothing to do with politics. Jesus hated politicians.

The Bible actually states that a man should respect a woman and her body.

Nothing is said about "gay marriage" but homosexuality is thought to be an act against nature, therefore a sin.

Nothing is said about abortion either...and you don't have to be a Christian to truly appreciate the death penalty. You could be Muslim...they enjoy beheadings, cutting off limbs, killing innocent women and children for a chance to go to heave and have 7 virgins giving blowjobs eternity.

Christians do believe in ghosts or spirits...they just don't worship them.

If God made humans on this planet...why not believe he could do the same elsewhere in space? He created that too.

Astrology is associated with soothsaying (fortune telling) and that is something Jesus said is forbidden of men. Knowing the future or the past will do nothing for you, nor will it change the outcome in the end.

Christians only serve and worship God by freewill. It's that freewill which also allows people like you to not believe.

Christians only cry like everyone else when they lose a loved one because that person is a part of their life. Nothing more.

There is only one God...ask the Muslims, Buddhists, Taoists etc...even polytheistic religions believe there is only 1 all powerful God, the rest are spirits and demi-gods.

Hmm...I think your a little mis-informed about my religion...

I am a Socialist Green (Environmentalist Socialist)

I am for equal rights (men AND women)

I am for gay marriage (I am bi-sexual)

I am against the death penalty and elective abortion

I believe in the Holy Spirit ( ghosts is a mis-translation of a Greek word)

I do believe that astrology is real, I don't follow this path because it is a power that is not recommended by God.
I believe in other planets, I KNOW that there is life out there (it says that in the bible).
I know God made dinosaurs, I know that science is correct.

I believe that God has a Master Plan, but we have the option to choose that plan. If we don't, we perish (as in die, no more, no hell, no limbo. Dead. In the ground. Destroyed...the atheist view on death, really Christians, check out: http://www.auburn.edu/~allenkc/tbhell.html
which describes the mis-translation of the original Hebrew texts)

I cry when someone dies because it means I'm living without them. You know...I'm gonna miss them?
I cry at the end of summercamp when my campers leave.
What...don't you ever cry? You ONLY cry when you'll NEVER see someone again? Ouch! Cold!

I believe that God has proof everywhere. I believe that believing in the Divinity of Jesus Christ is by faith-for that is something we, today, have no solid proof of beyond the bible.

I believe in one God, and I don't believe that I am ALSO supposed to believe every religion has their own God.
Who told you that? I believe that I must practice religious tolerance.

Thank-yoooouuuu come again!

mdell27-- Just believe Christ died for your sins...that's it!!! After you have accepted that and truly believe it you can believe what you want, but that is the big one cuz even if you do something that does not honor God (and you will) you are forgiven. Ain't that great??? Its called the Grace of God and it is a free gift from God all you need to do is accept it and don't let anyone tell you different. You can not earn with good works you can only believe it in faith. That is all God asks of us. Hope this helps. Remember,God didn't want it to be complicated cuz folks like me wouldn't get it. Enjoy God's peace and love. Have a great life.

not all christians believe these same things that you have listed...i am a christian and here are my basic beliefs:

i stay out of world politics...i believe in a theocracy (God rule)

God respects women...there were even female prophets and notable women used to carry out Gods will in the bible

true, most christians know that homosexuality is wrong

i am against abortion, but only God has the right to take away someone's life...that's why members of my religion DON"T sit on jury's that determine a death sentence...it's not up to us...the Bible says, "vengence is mine, i will repay, says Jehovah"

there are no such things as ghost, in the since of the spirits of dead humans...the devil, though, is very real and so are demons...

i don't believe in astrology...no one knows the future but God...the Bible warns against worshipping "the gods of devination". aliens or life on other planets is 'up in the air'...there very well could be life on other planets...men don't even know the vastness of the universes outside of our own.

God created our life and deserves our worship because of that fact,...however he created us with freewill, meaning that we have a choice to serve him or not, but there is reward for choosing correctly and punishment for choosing foolishly...

some christians don't greive to that extent when loved ones die, because we know what the Bible says about the future: that God will ressurect the righteous to paradise and we'll live forever. i don't believe that all good people go to heaven (the Bible specifically says 144,000) and i definately don't believe that anyone goes to Hell...

proof of Gods qualities are visible in creation...intelligence, power, justice and wisdom...since you can't SEE God, you HAVE to believe in God by faith...how else would you?...

other religions do follow a diffrent God...Hindu's who worship multiple deitys (male and female) and/or animals aren't serving the same God that i serve...there is only one God, as far as i'm concerned.

so there!

Religon is based on rules and rituals and I separate myself from that as best I can. It is not that they "can't" do these things they just choose not to do or believe in these things. And to be a Christian one must accept God as their Saviour, everything else is part of religion and much of it is practicing the Holy Words of the Bible.

No, you have to believe that God loved YOU enough that He sent His only Son to die a terrible death, all because you aren't perfect. He endured the ultimate sacrifice, so that people who don't believe in Him and mock His followers could even on their deathbed, repent and be saved.
