If a letter is one-sixteenth of an inch thick then that is a pile 122 miles high!
Are you telling me that NO-ONE has noticed a pile of letters 122 MILES HIGH !?
Alternatively, if they were laid out flat then they would cover 67 football pitches!

It tolls for Thee

Surely the 'Royal Mail' is an independent body. the government DON'T make their
internal policies?????
we can't keep blaming 'Labour' for all the countries ill's.
companies need to stand alone and take the responsibility for their actions instead of the blame culture shown in your question.
Take a real close look at the 'Thatcher' years with it's 17% + inflation.
Remember it was the tories who voted AGAINST the minimum wage.workers would still be earning £2.50 an hour if they had their way.
''it will bankrupt companies if they have to pay a minimum wage, a disaster for the economy''
Family tax credits have helped numerous families to have a better quality of life.
the pensioners winter fuel suppliment.
open your blinkered eyes to the reality, instead of the trash you spouted in your question. knowledge comes from great study not from indoctrination by tutors and teachers.
never believe anything unless proven by study.
I dread the day that the 'tories' get in power again.the country will fall into a major decline and they will of course blame it all on 'Labour' and YES!!! Both sides are as good at that balme each other culture.

What exactly does work under Labour? They have turned us into a third world country. If they will insist on PC so that people who can't read English are employed as sorters and postmen there is no wonder that our post goes astray. We continually get post for people who live the other side of town. God knows where ours goes to. Now that the Government has made it plain that you don't need English to get a job things will only get worse.

yes this will be based on the 50,000 letters that postwach sent out. 15 didn't turn up so they estimate that millions are lost every year, a very exact science i don't think. sounds like the swingometer they had after by elections on the BBC. when based on the votes some minor party got they would have taken 500 seats. as for the letter turning up after about 100 years, yes haven't heard that one for a day or two, perhaps someone found it and reintroduced it into the postal system just guessing here.

Are you suggesting that it is actually the Labour Government delivering letters to your door? You must be. How else will you be attempting to lay blame for Royal Mail's ineptitude at the government's door?

Wow it has not improved a bit has it. I remember in the 80's a lady got a letter that was posted in 1919 from her then boyfriend.. not sure what the lost letter count was then but it was in the millions. in fact i am still waiting for a letter posted when Margaret Thatcher was Prime minister myself.

i would not say they were all lost, some were stolen , about a million were dumped in a wharehouse when the post could not cope, and if Capital One would stop sending fliers out to ever man and his dog, the system would probebly work

bit like email, the more sht, junk mail that gets posted the more the post is treated like junk.
ban the junkmail, save the system (and trees)

Ok, are you blaming the Labour Party or Royal Mail for this - and are all 124,000,000 of these letters yours??

Interesting admittedly.

But what about the old saying "lies, damned lies and statistics"?

Can you tell me how many letters were lost by the Royal Mail in the ten years preceding Labour rule? For all we know it may have been twice as many!?
