If they have the details then the only thing they could do would be to claim a lost licence and get a replacement sent to another address. Then they could use it to try and get credit in your name, but not your address. They'd have to look like your photo though

You mean details as in that they have your Drivers Licence, if so they can certainly use them to get other documentation and to open bank accounts after they do a change of address!

So you best do what your meant to do in these situations, report it to the police and to the DVLA.

Please clarify what you mean by details.

It`s possible to make a fake one and use it for proof of identity to get credit. But to honest the details on it; name, address, dob, are available on lots of records so this can happen to anyone.

Edit: whoever is thumbing down - you underestimate the professionalism of the identity fraudster! Believe me, i work with this (the victims, not as a fraudster) every day at work, and you wouldn`t believe how easy it is for them!

These days they need a picture to get a duplicate licence so you're pretty safe.

very hard now adays with photo ones, but about 8 years ago an old friend got a copy of mine because he knew everything about me, when i found out i kicked the living **** out of him
