Then I am to stop loosing weight and concentrate on maintaince. Any tricks? Any advise? It is so good to be on the last leg of my journey.

Hi! I lost 100 lbs. in my mid-twenties and I have more or less maintained the loss for years now. Several things that might be helpful:

- Obviously you're going to have to figure out how much you can eat. It may not be as much as other people can eat. That's unfair but I have found it to be true. I'm not sure how many calories you're taking in now, but shoot for 200 more to start.
- KEEP WORKING OUT. You have to. Again, it will be tempting to go back to old ways, but while some can get away with not working out, chances are you can't. Switch up your workouts or work with a trainer to stay motivated.
- Remember that you're going to gain and lose a little all the time. My first few years of maintenance were so hard because every time I got full, I was afraid that 100lbs was coming back! So, just be gentle with yourself if you fall off the wagon a little - find your way back. Also, find some objective way to figure out if you are gaining - weigh or measure yourself regularly.

Congratulations on this accomplishment and know that there are others out there who have maintained!

Ms Crone, begin NOW. adjust your diet to something sensible, healthy, and with flavor that you'll be able to eat as a regular diet for the rest of your life. Unless you want to "Buff up" you can reduce your workouts to a more comfortable level as well. Remember, once you've reached your goal and try to change over to a maintenance level, you Weight wil NOT remain at that number and will fluctuate by as much as 5 to 10 pounds over the course of the year, with the coller winter months being the time of weight gain and the warmer summer months being when you will lose.. Just don't go on any "binges" of any kind, feel free to have a reasonable amount of a favorite snack, even something rich and fattening is acceptable if done in moderation.

Again, congratulations on having achieved those wonderful results. I'm SO proud of you, Ms Crone.

Brightest Blessings,

Wow, 135 lbs sounds too light for a 50-year-old female (at risk for osteoporosis) who is 5'9." Hoe do you feel right now? At 150 lbs you are probably near your "ideal" weight.
