Yes, embarrassing...one time I was at a house for dinner with my Mom and I went to the bathroom and when I got the toilet paper, the Star Spangled Banner started playing real loud! They had put a music thing in the roll...there is also a thing that hooks under the toilet tank lid and when someone sits down on the seat a man's voice yells real loud "HEY! I'm WORKIN' DOWN HERE!!!!" THAT was embarrassing (and also scared me to death).

Ya know, this one of those things that have bothered me to no end but never really said anything to anyone.

I totally agree. Even though I am woman, I find it very embarrassing when I am over a house filled with guys and they hear the toilet paper roll playing its rattle song.

Sometimes, I make this sound a lot depending if i had one of those sticky poops and i have to wipe a few times, then wet the toilet paper in the sink, do two wipes, then more dry wipes. You hear the roll so much, they make jokes when I come out like "Jeez, did you clog the toilet" or "You gonna buy a few rolls for us? Jeez!!". So yes, it is embarrassing.

He sells toilet papers? Lol, I'm sorry, but he seems to be "a few fries short of a happy meal," as Renee from season 8 ANTM has said. Do people actually buy toilet paper rolls? Okay, they're even less normal than he appears to be.........

Well, everyone knows you're in the bathroom doing something private so it doesn't really matter. When I start to be bothered by the noise of the paper I just try to get over what other people might be thinking about what I'm doing in there. It's just a fact of life that we all have business to take care of at times.

Because I am female you can't tell what job I am doing in there. Both #1 and #2 require rolling out the paper!
You might try pulling it a little slowwwwerrr so it doesn't rattle around so much or consider replacing the entire unit.

Haha!
My office is right next to a bathroom, so I hear all sorts of things during the day. My coworkers and I always make sure to get up and take a walk when we hear an excess of "thumping" from the toilet paper.

Yes, or, even worse, in a public restroom where the roll is uneven or the roller is squeaky..... "Hey everyone, there's a crapper in here!".

I usually take the roll off the roller if it does that and just place it back on the roller when I'm done.

Yea that's pretty un-nerving. Why don't you take the roll off the roller and squeeze it so that it will roll more quietly?
