If you meet the age and skill requirements of a job, you can apply for ANY job -- whether or not that's at a hospital or anywhere else.

Does volunteering improve your employment chances? It can, but not always.

If you volunteer in the hospital gift shop, for instance, that probably won't improve your chances of being hired as a nursing assistant.

Certain jobs in hospitals, relating to the provision of care to patients or the undertaking of administrative duties, require that you have particular certifications, degrees and experience, and no amount of volunteering at the hospital will matter in certain jobs.

If you are interested in a career relating to hopitals, it's a great idea to volunteer there. It will expose you to the culture of health care facilities and the variety of career paths. It may also build some relationships that will lead to a job later when you have the appropriate education, skills and certification for such.

Well since you are going to volunteer, ask one of the employes on their lunch break your question, and maybe they can help you. If you are a student of a college they may let you apply for the job and then help you get certified while you work for them. I hope I have helped you.

The best way is to approach the Human Resource Department or Personnel Management, they are the one responsible for job listing in the Hospital. Inquire about any openings in the different departments.
After your volunteer work, you could ask your employer for a reference or letter of referral. It is important to have special skills required in different field of work of specialization in the hospital.
Find trainings in First Aid, Basic Life Support, Emergency Action Principle, etc. Upgrade your skills, gain more knowledge and develop in yourself a good attitude. SKA (Skills, Knowledge and Attitude) is crucial in working in the hospital.

It depends on the job. If you have to be certified in order to be hired then you will have to have that before you can be hired.Experience is a plus but doesn't excuse the mandatory qualifications.
