Okay. Winter Ball is on Dec. 14, two weeks from now, and my friend and I REALLY want to go with dates! This is our first highschool dance (we're freshman) and so we don't really know how this whole thing works... I have two guys in mind that I might want to go with but i'm not really close to either of them(although they do seem to show a bit of interest).
HELP! P.S. they're both older.
Oh and please don't give answers like "just go up and ask one!" b/c that would be way too awkward to ask a guy i don't know that well or have never been to the stage of 'flirting' with.

Start talking to them! It's coming up fast. Find a mutual friend or something in common and start talking. It'll turn into a more flirtacious vibe and soon enough it won't be awkward for one to ask you or for you to ask him.

This is usually an expensive date, you should have been working on this at least two or three weeks ago...It would be best at this point if you asked, but..
All you can do, is make sure they see you.
Ask them, questions about what they are planning, and hope they take the hint...

If any of your friends are close to them you could get them to ask. They could be like "hey.. my friend needs a date to the dance. will you go with her?" That way it wouldn't be too awkward for you.

well, just wait for someone to ask you if your not going to ask them. You cant like make them ask you..thats wronge...and soo good luck hope you get a date...but it doesnt really matter that much if you do or dont have a date, because theres alot of people who go without dates, and like you'll endup getting asked to dance anyway. : )

You say you don't want us to just tell you to just go up and ask one of them, so what do you want us to tell you? There's not really much else to say. If you want to go with one of them, you just have to ask! How else are you going to get a date? Is there anyone you think might ask you? If not, just ask one of these guys. He might say yes, so get out there and ask!

Find out where there lockers are and leave ananomous notes. Or find them in the hall and give them a look to get you to ask them. Stay close to them making them think about taking you. TRY IT ALL!!!!!

the worst they can say is no, but try to talk to them a bit get to know them.
ask them if they have dates yet.
and then if they don't be like "me niether".
and let things go from there.

bypass for it! yet do not problem about flirting with him or some thing, especially once you're anxious and also you do not even comprehend him yet. basically be pleasant, and be your self! have exciting!
