Depends on where you are. Like if you're in CA (where I am now), it probably will be cheaper than if you were in WI. If you're in WI (I used to live there), sometimes they don't have shrimps - you'll have to special order them.
In CA, you will find the some of the shrimps and other seafood prices are lower in Asian Food Stores. Prices can range depending on the size of the shrimps. Medium size can range from $6.99/lb in Asian stores. American food stores like Safeway, FoodCo, Winco, etc. is usually a little higher. While there, you can find some of the shrimps already cooked too.
You can also find frozen shrimp in the frozen food section. They usually come in a 2 lbs package. I like this sometimes because it can be a little cheaper AND most of the cleaning is already done for you - you don't have to slice the shrimps and clean out their poops. But you'll have to take off the coverings. It's individually frozen too so it makes it easier if you're not going to use the whole 2 lbs right away.
I hope that helps! =) Have fun cooking.

i just paid 12 dollars for two pounds of shrimp, so around ten bucks i would say. i stir fry mine with spanish maracona (or something) almonds, a bag a cole slaw mix, and then make a sauce with water, cornstarch, and soysauce for flavors. is a popular dish in new britain, connecticut, but most people use pine nuts instead.
