The road to illumination lies in though and reflection.
Failing that a dictionary and asking about the first commandment is permitted.
But no copying!!!!

No,

1) We are not using an avatar for religious purposes,

2) It is just a new cyber world word as well. When we used icons to dispense with those deadful dos formulas we were quickly opening a program; not worship an Orthodox Christian Picture of the Modonna or the sainrs.

My God is Jesus Christ who came to earth in bodily form.
Born in a manger in Bethlehem and the Bread of Life, the Light of the World, The Savior, The King, My Lord and God in flesh who walked on this earth 2000 years ago and went to the Cross of Calvary, shed His blood for you and me. This is my Avatar and His descent from heaven is coming soon.

I don't understand this either. Why does Yahoo and sometimes other websites or browsers use "avatar" to describe someone's made-up persona. It's like saying the Messiah. But Yahoo doesn't seem to care about blaspheming other peoples' religions, but they care if you do and will suspend you.

hahaha, that is a funny question. I would have to say yes. I guarantee that 99% of the people don't look anything like their avatars. Then again, they don't make ugly/obese avatars ;]

NO - the avatar is an online representation of the user - not any deity, not a god.

It's not creating false idols.
