I'm looking for those expensive truffles (could even be just the oil) for a gourmet food recipe. Has anyone seen it sold at Trader's Joe?

Yes, trader joe's sells the most decandent truffles ever, in different grades of chocolate. I can't remember exactly the name, but its in a carboard box in a triangle shape in the cookie section over the frozen food aisle. I think they're called german or European.
Must try! OMG!

Yes! Trader Joe's has truffles. There are different types to choose from. Some stores keep them in different locations, so ask an employee and also explain that you will be using them in a recipe. They will tell you where to find them, and help you choose what type.

He means the "reallllllllllllly expensive mushrooms", truffles, which are NOT synonymous with the chocolate variety, which were named after the mushrooms, rustic hand rolled chocolate truffles resemble the mushroom variety of the truffle......Truffle oil is available at Williams Sonoma and VERY upscale markets, like Whole Foods......I've never seen truffle oil at Trader Joe's, and I shop there a couple times a week.......Enjoy, and if you do have a Whole Foods near you, call them and ask them if they have truffle oil........You're gonna pass out at the price of it, though........Enjoy!!!

I have not seen truffles at Trader Joe's but I did buy one at Whole foods about two weeks ago. I was shocked to find one at all. And it was FRESH. It turns out it came from Oregon.

I didn't think it was quite as aromatic as the European one's.

I take one 1100mg fish oil under the Trader Darwin's label. TJ's didn't have wild salmon oil and I take one 1000 mg of that which I think I got at Pharmaca or Elephant. I have been doing that for five months and have never experienced a fishy aftertaste. GNC didn't have ANY salmon oil. You do want the wild salmon and not something from farmed salmon which are contaminated with antibiotics and/or growth hormones.

LOL! I think he's talking about fungus, not chocolate!

I think they sell truffle oil, but not actual truffles. Ther are several vendors on Amazon that sell truffles. Dean & DeLuca also sell truffles. They are such a wonderful, decadent treat.

Namaste,
Bebe
