Some belief systems are not focus enough on this reality and this world. They don't value struggle or hardship enough, as a means to achieve great things and bring out the most in human potential. They have an afterlife lacking in certain valuable parts of reality that exist in this world. Reincarnation of the continuous type, forces one to respect this reality more. Also having spiritual ideas that are clear, and easy to apply to the modern era would help. In an emergency one can not be struggling with unclear, hard to interpret writings. I think we need to get the best and newest spiritual ideas, and training techniques from all available sources. Life is to complicated, to not have at least really clear spiritual ideas to start with , that when applied, may then have more complication and sensitivety required. Science and technology are so advanced, religion needs to catch up and enter the modern age, if we are to have the right morality to handle this very challenging era we are entering.
