i need to know for a global studies project how much plutonium the united states consumes in 1 year i know that it is used in weapons and not in power please help me i need an answer my grade depends on this project!

US launched a satellite with a pretty big Pu battery in it last January. I guess that is used in power.

I don't know the weight. Probably several pounds at least.

There is no new new plutonium being used because currently the US is not making any new nuclear weapons

I do not know if you can get that infro, but your best choice is to go through the US Department of Energy website www.doe.gov . They oversea all US Nuclear programs except Naval Nuclear Propulsion.

My best bet would be that that information is labeled, "Top Secret, Eyes only" And probably compartmental to COSMIC and ATOMAL
