I'm not perfect about it, but I do and try to be careful on how I speak to others. I try to speak to others as I would have them speak to me. When I make a mistake, I'll apologize.
But I prefer to be careful because once something gets said, it cannot be taken back. All you can do is apologize when you're wrong and learn from that mistake.

I don't buy into that sticks and stones stuff. Words CAN hurt. Some things are not easy to roll off your back, even if you are the most easygoing soul out there.

Good question, brother!

That is what we are supposed to do, and I assure you I am getting better. God is giving healing and more is coming. After many years of serious abuse and not having a say about anything, or a right, I leanred early that I better speak louldy or they dont know I am there. But, GOd has dealt with me on this and I am so much better Praise God.
Occiasionally I will react too quickly and take the bait of offense and it always causes problems. But I confess heaing, I expect it, and I wait for the rest to come. I belive I am healed, even before I see full evidence of it. ITs called Faith. God requires strong faith , and often testing is what increases our faith. I am thankful for all I have gone thru, cuz it made me a strong woman today. I know who God is, and I know who I am in Christ, and I know that women are to be treated as equals, or the man isnt keeping his end of the covenant with God , or with his wife in marriage.
SO for all of you, who see things you still need help with, know GOd loves you , forgives youl , but we have to give it up. If we confess it and allow The Holy Spirit to talk to us, then we will have full healing over whatever comes along.
God bless you. Greqt question.

If I don't, I usually regret it. It is important as a Christian to think before you speak, or rather ask God's guidance to utter the correct response. I like the verse about whoever holds his tongue keeps his soul from trouble? or grievous words stir up anger? All God's wisdom/words I try to remember.

Actually I do but I think at such high speed that most people don't realize what may appear to be one thought is on fact hundreds of individual thoughts
My personal observation is that most people that don't say much don't actually have a lot to sayeth

Never, I am as real as they come:) If I had to think twice then my answer would not be the truth, it would be a socially correct version of what I really wanted to say. Life would be so much simpler if everyone spoke the truth instead of playing mind games.

I think alot ... some times too much...lol lots of thoughts spinning in my head, round and round. I think I have too much to think about too, but to Mr Danger: People who don't say much are usually deep thinkers (in my experience) and I usually wonder what they are thinking. Like, I WANT to know to the point I try to figure it out. I think I have been around too many Italians.... little mystery in what they are thinking.

Unfortunately I don't and I know that I should. But with living alone I talk too much whether it be in person or on the net.
That is something I should work on. Thank you.

I always try to!

There is power of life and death in the tongue.

Our words are so powerful. We can speak things in to existence just by the words we speak.

If we are not careful, we can give the enemy opportunity to grasp hold of something we say and use that.

I always tell my children to be careful of their words. At one point they would say, "I hate that person".

I would cringe at that, and tell them, what a strong word to be saying.........hate.

We really need to use caution on a daily basis.

At least twice, often more. Some people say I'm slow. They probably don't think twice before they say it though.

Sometimes I remember. I put my foot in my mouth now and then.
It's a good thing I wear a size 5 shoe.
