Being a scholar of religions, this word was part of the Jews at the time of the Exodus AS they were the faithful of Amen-Ra, Lord of Creation of Egyptian faith. If you read the Torah, there was a "split" amongst the Hebrews later and what you now find is the "sect" of the Hebrews who were NOT of Amen but the God, Yahveh or "Jehovah." The Hebrews, contrary to religious historians, were faithful to MANY Gods, e.g. Baal, El, Amen, Yahveh, to name a few. They were also not devoutly monotheistic either.

Amen, is the name of the God the "Hysos" later calling themselves "Hebrews" began to worship as slaves to Egypt. It has STUCK as this word meaning "so be it" or the end of prayer to many when in fact, AS the name of a God, all religions blaspheme their own faiths by using the word FOR despite what "they" wish to believe this word "means" it does not change the original FACT that it is the name given to the Lord by the ancient Egyptians.

Some just asked this ? a couple days ago

It is an affirmation of what has been asked or stated. And as God will judge us by our words, we should be more careful about what we say Amen to, like as we are when signing a contract. Amen?

"But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment" (Mat 12:36).

"Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven" (Mat 18:19).

"And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us" (1 John 5:14).

I Be in the trap is an easier way to look at it. A trap is not a trap house. A trap is her Hood. A trap house is where drugs are sold. I have no idea where some people got their answers but I can assure you that 95% of them are way off.

Amen means So May It Be. In Masonic lodges we use an archaic version- So Mote it be- but it means the same thing.

Amen: so let it be done, but now it seems it's said out of habit, there are a lot of things that are said in church that do not deserve an amen
