Not a great deal and it depends on a lot of differnt things - the types of tree, whereabouts in the world, the weather etc.

A standard mature tree typically weighs about 3 tons, just over 2 tons of that comes from carbon dioxide. If it takes 50 years to reach maturity then it has absorbed 40kg per year (a little over 100 grams / 4 ounces per day).

A really big tree will absorb 2 or 3 times as much, a small tree maybe half as much.

Trees also release carbon, if this is taken into account then an average tree will absorb about 25 grams / 1 ounce more CO2 per day than it releases.

The best trees for absorbing CO2 are fruit trees and large trees that are planted in tropical regions, they can absorb 40kg / 100 pounds more CO2 each year than they release.

actually, it is more like 45 to 50 pounds per YEAR for a typical healthy, mature tree! photosynthesis will convert it back to oxygen and carbon.

a typical person generates about 2 to 2.2 pounds of CO2 per day, so for the entire Earth's population, humans alone generate about 6 to 7 million tons of CO2 per day just by breathing. so just to keep up with human CO2 output from breathing, we would need on the order of 100 billion trees, that's 100,000,000,000 trees. now factor in the worldwide CO2 from cars, power plants and all the rest and that number goes up by a factor of at least 5 to 10.
