Those who practice it what routines do you have, and what would you suggest for a new learner? Anything informative and helpful, I do know some things, and find it very spiritual.

Thanks for the support, it's really appreciated, and so quickly. I do have Scott Cunningham's Guide for the Solitary Practitioner , and I have read my cousins Wiccan Bible. I recently found out, a few other females in my family have this same intrigue, some more in it fo rlonger. It really is comforting to have family in it too.

Brightest Blessings! I definately recomend meditation. This helps you get intune with your higher self and the Lord and Lady. Speak to them, get to know them. Then get to know yourself. Is this truly the right path for you. What is it that attracts you to Wicca specificly. How will it benifit me. Begin to get used to your personal energy and power. If you are going to be doing any spellcraft/magic start to try and focus your energy. This will prepare you for when you are ready to begin spellcrafting.
Start a Book of Shadows or a journal. Write out important things that the God and Goddess show you in your meditations. Note your experiences or anything you wish really!
Definately keep reading, studing, and researching! The rest will come. The Lord and Lady will be sure and lead you in the right direction and give you what you need. As many have said Cunningham is always a good author to start with. Buckland, Grimmasi, are a couple of other authors that are good as well. While Cunningham usually has pratical books and how toos Grimmasi has some good books on the spirituality of withcraft (Spirit of the Witch is excellent!). Idiots Guide to Wicca and Witchcraft is a nice recourse as is Buckland's Complete Book of Witchcraft is good too. http://www.religioustolerance.org/ and http://witchvox.com are some good online recources. I hope you find your path!

If you're just starting out, I highly recommend the book "Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner" by Scott Cunningham. It will give you the information you need to start practicing the religion on a daily basis. Keep in mind that Cunningham is a good starting point, but he is not infallible and he is ONLY a starting point. It's important to read a lot of different points of view.

However , I advise you to stay far away from anything by Silver Ravenwolf, for reasons outlined in the following essay:

In fact, the entire site is an excellent resource:

You can also connect with local Wiccans through the Witches of the World section at Witchvox:

Just use the pull-down menus on the left to find individuals, groups, shops, and events in your area. Attending open rituals and practicing the religion with others of like mind is an excellent way to learn. Always remember: never do anything that you don't want to do, and trust your instincts.

Best of luck to you on your path.

Hurah!! Wicca is a religon that has been round longer than many different extra "acceptedl" religions. Wiccans have as a lot correct to have a symobol that they think in located on their memorial stones as Christians do a go. If the nation was once as populated with Wiccans as there are Christians now and the Christians had been a minority how might they think in the event that they had been informed they couldnt Have angels or crosses on their tombstones. This nation was once firstly shaped via folks short of religous freedom so its approximately time that the federal government appreciate the rights of nonchristian infantrymen. The horror flicks have given the pentacale this type of dangerous rep that folks see one and turn out and routinely believe satan worshiper. i do quite fear that a few disrespectful folks will vandalize the pinnacle stones although. Ah... you have to watch out for some of the information out there about Wicca, because a lot of it is fluffy...

wicca.timerift.net has a booklist- it shows not only the good books, but the ones you should stay away from

If you're looking for practices and routines specifically, Scott Cunningham's Guide for the Solitary Practitioner is a pretty good book- though you should take it with a grain of salt in my opinion.

Read alot. Some great authors are Scott Cunningham, Margot Adler, Edain McCoy(one of my favorites). I have heard some say Silver Ravenwolf is no good, but I haven't read her myself. You might also subscribe to a newsletter, or pick up a yearly almanac. These give good leads on good authors, as well as information on miscellaneous things that don't make it into alot of books. When you read, read critically. Ask questions. Write them down. You might align yourself with a coven or just with a Wiccan fellowship group in your area.

In all seriousness, my suggestion to beginners is to not use the Internet as a source of information. The majority of web-based info on Wicca is complete garbage.

My list of book recommendations is here:

Firstly....don't let anyone get you down for expanding your mind.

Secondly...don't bash another's beliefs because thats not what you're here for. You're here for tolerance. We all should be here for tolerance...and yet, that isn't the case.

Bright Journey to you. :o)
