What does Vatican II have to do with Benedict resigning? Seriously, I don't understand this question.
And no, I see no reason why John XXIII should be declared a heretic. Everything moves forward, including the Catholic Church. Does change=heresy in your eyes? That's one really stagnant religion!

A brief history lesson: the Catholic Church was already into the "real world," and the Church was also very interested in Galileo's ideas -- until he went around teaching them as fact before proving them, which is what really landed him in trouble.
There's a TON of misinformation out there about the relationship between Galileo and the Catholic Church. Unfortunately, millions of people have fallen for it -- including, apparently, you.
One thing that alot of people have wrong is the false idea that Galileo was right about everything. He was not. For instance, one of his teachings stated that the sun, and not the earth, was the center of the universe. Not just the center of the solar system, but of the universe.
Well, we know now that neither the sun nor the earth is the center of the universe. If the Church had blindly accepted Galileo's idea on this -- as many modern-day secularists think it should have done -- then the Church would have been accepting something that wasn't true.
In short, Galileo faltered when it came to honoring the scientific method of PROVING his ideas before going around teaching them as fact.
It was this that landed him in trouble -- not his ideas themselves.

Your question shows how little you know and understand of the Catholic Church.
Pope John XXIII was no heretic.
Why ask the pope to resign, Catholics understand that he was selected by the conclave through the intervention of the Holy Spirit. So why would we ask him to resign???
And what does Bill Clinton have to do with the question?

I's say stroke or a heart attack. i think of purely the Vatican docs comprehend, you comprehend, they actually do no longer publicize it. Even Popes have a definite privateness. There are rumors, and that's not elementary to have self assurance, Wikipedia.
