For a dozen large eggs, it ranges from $1.89 to $3.19, depending on the store. A locally owned store sells them from a local farm for the $1.89.
I'm 60 miles north of NYC.
Also - eggs, butter, and other "baking supplies" are going to be higher now than after New Years because so many people bake for the holidays.

I live in the Canadian prairies (just to the north west of you) and for a dozen jumbo eggs, it costs over $4
However, I can get 2.5 dozen extra large eggs from Costo for less than $5.

RE:
How much does a dozen eggs cost where you live?
I know this seems like a really inane question but Ive moved around some and the price seems to be really high here in Chicago right now. Please say where you are in your answer...

I bake a lot so we get 18 eggs at Costco for $1.80, but at the smaller grocery store down the street they're like $3 for a dozen (it's like a specialty store though). this is in California

It depends on where you buy them. The grocery store charges around $2.49 for a dozen large grade AA eggs. I can buy a dozen large grade AA at Trader Joe's for $1.99.
