More than likely they are swollen tast buds caused by an intense exposure to a certain food or drink. I know alot of tomato paste will cause alot of peoples tongues to break out from time to time. More than likely though since its under your tongue it is probably an ulcer caused by an infection or it could be an irritated piece of skin caused by rubbing it against your teeth, etc. You can get an OTC product called Canka that will help with pain! More than likely whatever it is was probably caused by a food or drink you consumed.

There is no known reason for mouth ulcers although some experts reckon acetic acids spicey foods and even stress can bring them on. Their usually more annoying than painful.
You can get steroid lozenges from your pharmacist that help to heal the ulcer. Other than that you just have to put up with them!!!!

If I start getting more ulcers and/or sceptic spots than usual, it usually means I'm lacking in vitamin C. 'If' a mouth ulcer is all it is, try a vitamin C supplement.
