I just purchased a new PC, and all I've heard for the last year was how horrible and useless Vista is. The kids at the Best Buy did try to convince me that Vista is the way to go, but I did hear that they (and everyone else,) had to be forced by Microsoft to use Vista on the new machines. Its not impossible or even difficult for me to put XP on my machine (I even have my old discs from the old PC,) but if they weren't just trying to sell me on what I heard was the worst version of Windows ever (even more so then Windows NT,) I guess I can leave it on. Dual boot them! It's pretty easy, you must have two harddrives (or more) or you can create a partition on your hard drive. I have XP and Vista dual booted on mine, so I can choose if I want to load xp or vista at startup

If it occurs after it inspects your configuration i might say that a number of your hardware products are actually not properly suited at as quickly as with XP and characteristic been designed specifically for vista. yet... On a slump... in case you have 4 gigs of ram, and you try to place in a 32 bit working device (XP 32 bit) this would reason a conflict beings as XP 32 bit basically helps 3 gigs of ram. try removing a million stick of ram if this is so, and want for the terrific. yet another technique is likewise to objective installation a sixty 4 bit OS...in case you have one obtainable. additionally... make helpful that the replica of XP you're utilising is actual. If it became downloaded online or borrowed from a chum it would o.k. be a fraudulent replica.

I feel the bad stories about Vista are over blown. I have it myself. I have been using it for about 4 months now. I have had minimal problems. Sure some of the programs that I was using with XP don't work. You can just find a similar program that does work. If you are not afraid of change then leave Vista and learn the future of windows.

I would keep it the way it is.

I remember in caveman-days when Windows Millenium came out. People were saying the same thing about Windows98 being way better.

On top of that, Microsoft is making it more and more difficult to transfer Windows XP anywhere. I had to call them and get a new code in person when I re-installed on my own machine! Wow.

I think you will find a lot of users who ask questions one at a time, but don't care to spend some time learning Vista. If you set it to "classic view," it will resemble XP which may help you navigate around. Then, if you want to do a little studying:

Here's the plain and simple answer: If you aren't having any problems, then don't bother. It's a pain in the butt for most people to hunt down the drivers necessary if the computer didn't come with them (although I enjoy doing it for them).
