I hear very many Christians call Jesus (pbuh), Lord Jesus Christ, but a verse in the bible says:

"None of those who call me 'Lord' will enter the kingdom of God, but only the one who does the will of my father in heaven"

Matthew 7:21

Just looking at the replies of this question makes me dislike Christians even more.

Also, it probably is the version I'm reading.

Why do you deliberately twist the scriptures?
You, (just as Satan did in the garden regarding Jehovah's Commandment), deliberately distorted what Jesus said, when you claim "none of those'.
The verse actually says;
Matthew 7:21 “Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. 22 Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’ 23 And yet then I will confess to them: I never knew YOU! Get away from me, YOU workers of lawlessness.

Read this verse again
Matthew 7:21
Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven, but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven, The Lord (Jesus) is the Son of God.

A lot of people make things up, don't read the Bible, or get one the devil made and then call themselves great.
Don't do what others tell you is the truth. Read a modern Bible over and over and get the TRUTH. For one will not remember it all from one reading.
I asked a Catholic priest why he used "Father" in front of his name when Jesus said in Matthew 23:9 Not to call ANYONE father, for your only Father is God.". The priest claimed that he was above all of us and above Jesus too, equal to God; so father was suppose to be in front of his name.
What it mean is that there will be people claiming to be followers of God and Jesus; but they are not teaching what is taught. Like Jesus said that we do not need a lot and "it is easier for a camel to get through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to get to Heaven". That means if someone is keeping tons of money to themselves, even if they are leading a church, they are likely to end up in hell because they kept the money to themselves. Jesus dose not know them because they did NOT do as he taught.

Matthew 7:21 is not forbidding us from calling Jesus "Lord."

Rather, the verse is condemning the act of people paying "lip service" to their faith, without really living it by doing God's will.

Lots of people in the Gospels called Jesus "Lord" even when speaking directly to Him -- and He never rebuked them for doing so.

Again, Matt. 7:21 is not telling us that it's wrong to call Jesus "Lord" -- it's simply telling us that we cannot go through the motions of being Christians by saying "Lord" without putting our faith into practice.

You got great answers already.

In Mark 27:28 the Phoenician woman called him Lord. "And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord..."

In Mark 11:3 " 3If anyone asks you, 'Why are you doing this?' tell him, 'The Lord needs it and will send it back here shortly.' "

Mark 10"11-12"10Haven't you read this scripture:
" 'The stone the builders rejected
has become the capstone[a];
11the Lord has done this,
and it is marvelous in our eyes'[b]?"

John 11:21 Martha calls Jesus Lord ""Lord," Martha said to Jesus, "if you had been here, my brother would not have died.

In John 2:27 (my favorite chapter) John recognizes Jesus and tells Peter ""It is the Lord!" As soon as Simon Peter heard him say, "It is the Lord,"
In verse 21 15-17 Peter three times calls Jesus calls Lord. "15When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, ""Yes, Lord," he said, "you know that I love you." 16Again Jesus said, "Simon son of John, do you truly love me?" Yes, Lord, you know that I love you." And in verse 17 "Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you."

So these are some examples where His believers called Jesus Lord while he was on this earth. It does not change for us today when believers recognize Jesus Christ to be Lord in their lives.

Look at the whole context of the chapter and the verse.

"Not everyone who says to me 'Lord, Lord,' will enter into the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven." (Mathew 7:21)

The chapter is in reference to false prophets, those that claim to be Christian but don't do what God has properly called them to do.

Did you use the whole verse, or just decided to start where you wanted to?
What translation is this from? I searched through 25 translations and not a single one of them even had that phraseology. Please help me out and let us know what translation you are getting it from.

As far as Christians calling Jesus Lord
"That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." (Romans 10:9) Christians are supposed to call Jesus Lord.

Which version of the Bible are YOU reading?

That is not what it says. It says:
"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven."

That's the NIV.
Let's look at some other versions, shall we?
"Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter." (NASB)
"Knowing the correct password—saying 'Master, Master,' for instance— isn't going to get you anywhere with me. What is required is serious obedience—doing what my Father wills."
(The Message)
"Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father Who is in heaven." (Amplified)
"“Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter." (NLT)

What Jesus was saying was you have to walk the walk, you can't just talk the talk. He was saying that professing to follow Him will do no good if a person isn't doing God's will.

This doesn't mean that calling him lord will block you from heaven. it just means that it is not a guarantee of entry. Having true faith and loving God goes way beyond just saying the words.

Jesus means he will turn away someone who doesn't really believe in him and are just calling him "Lord" because they want a license to commit all the crimes they want, then get a free ride into heaven. He knows our hearts and it has to be more than lip service. We have to truly love him and want to do his will.

must be the version you're reading. My bible says "not all who call me Lord, Lord.."

I think it just proves faith without works is empty.
