after bootcamp, not much time off if any. after A or C school, you will get sometime off, usually 2 weeks to get to your first duty station. depending on your command, if your spouse is pregnant you can get 2 weeks leave. if your on a small ship (ex. minesweeper) and your on deployment overseas you more than likely will not be able to come back for the birth of the baby. i hear that can be different on a large ship. my hubby has been on 3 deployments in the last 2 years overseas and he was always given 2 weeks vacation before and after deployment or the choice of mustering every 3rd day. ultimatley it is competley up to your captain.

no leave is authorized between Boot Camp and A school. No leave is authorized during A school except for the two weeks between Christmas and new years. After that, the normal procedure is to allow anywhere from 14-30 days before reporting to the first duty station. at this point, you may go into the hole if you do not have enough leave accrued(2.5 days/month of service). however, if you go into the hole you will not be allowed to take leave again until you have gone out of the hole and earned more.

It depends. You can sometimes get leave before you ship out. Your best bet is to put in for "recruiter assistant". This is where you can go home but are technically still "working" for the navy during the day. You have to go with the local recruiter to his office, school recruiting, ect. It's a good way to see your family without losing too much leave.

i got 10 days right after bootcamp before i went to a school. some people go straight to school then get leave though. it just depends on what they are offering and what you qualify for. having a pregnant girlfriend really doesn't matter, but it couldn't hurt to mention it.

Normal policy is 2.5days per month. If you are not in a school that does not allow interruption in study, should be able to apply for the amount you have accumulated. If being deployed or going shipduty they will sometimes allow an aditional amount equal to half of the duty time. That way when you return, you at least have some available time on the books.

Depends on a number of factors.
What school(s) are you going to and where are they.
If going Subs you will not be allowed leave until after BESS (Basic Enlisted Submarine School) unless your class up date allows it. You may get some than unless your A-School class update does not give time. But you will be alloted up to 30 days between your A-school and Reporting to your first command, since this is considered your first PCS.

You usually get 10 days leave after boot (at least when I was in...65-85).
The Navy didn't issue a pregnant girlfriend in your sea bag, sailor!
She's a GIRLFRIEND, not a WIFE. Navy don't give a whip about pregnant girlfriends. Why isn't she your WIFE? Girlfriends don't get Navy bennies...no commissary privileges, no exchange privileges, no medical...NADA. She's a NON-PERSON as far as the Navy is concerned.

I went from Basic to Tech School, but got leave during the Christmas break to fly home and be with the family. Then flew back and finished my tech school.

Unless you go to A school right out of boot camp, you can take leave if you request it.
