And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. - Mark 16:17,18.

If yes, can you handle deadly cobras witout getting harmed or drink antifreeze without getting harmed? Can you go to a hospital and put it out of business by healing people?

Footnote: I strongly recommend you do not try these things.

Of course all beliefs welcome to answer, but considering the nature of the question was looking for Christian responses in particular, please.

TY and lots of love all.

All of these signs are for their time and are not person specific.
These signs will be from the body of Christ and will happen by individuals within this body of Christ.

Satan is the serpent and his children are poisonous serpents (SPIRITUALLY).

Mar 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
Mar 16:18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Joe 2:28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:

Deu 32:32 For their vine is of the vine of Sodom, and of the fields of Gomorrah: their grapes are grapes of gall, their clusters are bitter:
Deu 32:33 Their wine is the poison of dragons, and the cruel venom of asps.

THINK SPIRITUALLY

Indeed I do believe they are for today's believers. I don't plan to handle venomous snakes, however, because that would be foolish.

I've read accounts where missionaries went into very strange tribes in Africa and the tribal members attempted to poison them with powerful things that would kill most people. But the missionaries knew of these things and prayed for God's covering the entire time they were there. They did unknowingly drink poison, but it didn't effect them. God protected them. And yes, it really happened.

God bless!

All the miracles and things such as these was done while the apostles were alive. When they all died out the great apostacy set in and all those powerful works were done away with. The bible says they went into a stage of being ruled by the nations.

The most reliable early manuscripts and other ancient
witnesses do not have Mark 16:9-20.

I believe Jesus, at that particular time, made it possible
for those new believers to prove their "faith" by doing the
things Jesus told them they could do. I do not believe
that applies to us today, however.
