A director is responsible for every aspect of a show, so let's talk about a few of the things you'll be dealing with. (I don't know the play, but you do, so you'll know if my suggestions make any sense.)

Where will you be staging the play? If it's outdoors during the daytime, you won't need artificial lighting. If it's indoors, or outdoors at night, you'll need to have stage lights, and you'll have to decide when to turn them on and off -- say, at the beginnings and ends of scenes.

Will you want to play music or sound effects during the play?

Where does the play take place? In a palace? In the woods? What sort of scenery will you need to have on the stage? Will you change the set for different scenes in the play, or will it stay the same for the whole show?

What costumes will the actors wear? Does somebody have to look like a frog? How will you handle that? Will the actor wear a whole frog costume or just something simple like a green T-shirt and a mask? If there's a mask, will it cover the actor's whole face, or will it leave the mouth uncovered to make it easier for the actor to speak clearly and be understood by the audience? Will some actors have to wear more than one costume during the show? If so, will there be time for them to change costumes between scenes?

What props (things that the actors carry) will you need for the play? Swords? Books? Plates and cups? Bottles? Magic wands?

What advice will you give the actors about how to play their roles? What are the personalities of the characters like? How should the actors talk and move?

When you're choosing actors for the play, how will you decide who's right for which role? When actors come to audition for your show, will you ask them to sing a song? Do a dance? Tell a joke? Or will you give them copies of the script and ask them to act out a short scene? What scenes will you use for the auditions? If you can only watch each auditioner for a couple of minutes, which scenes will help you get the best idea of the actors' abilities?
