omgosh, yes! you should tip your piercer or tattoo artist... especially if you plan on going back to them. remember, they are permanently marking your body and you want them to put their best effort forward. as for an amount? it doesn't have to be a percentage of the cost of tattoo, but $5 to $15 is always appreciated. most tattoo artists do this because they love doing it but they still need to make a living.

I did once when I got my little tattoo and that's because I was very happy with the work the guy has done, not because I "had" to tip him.

I think that it is always a positive outcome to tip people that do a service for you. Yes tip them. and tip them better if they do an exceptional job!
