Contacts Toys for Tots.

Sending money to someone over the internet is just plain stupid. There are plenty of local resources. Make contact with them now.

You have a Christmas Bureau somewhere near you, where they give out toys to those children that may not get any for Christmas. Go to the Food Bank, the Salvation Army. Forget about pride this time of the year, You can do them a favor and phone all the places you can think of, and get them help for Christmas.

Your friends need to file for assistance on behalf of the kids... AFDC. It may take a little while for that to kick in.

Consider "adopting" this family in the time being... get the kids' sizes from the ladies. Pass around a collection jar at work, talk to your neighbors and see if they can give a little something. Buy one extra of something for their pantry when you go grocery shopping. Buy the kids some extra socks or whatever when you hit the department stores for your own grocery shopping. Every little bit will help.

I agree w the 1st person. I am sitting @ home w a baby and a broken leg & shattered ankle. My husband is trying to make ends meet with me not working and our daughter isn't having a christmas or a 1st B-Day which is Dec 30th. Christmas is not about gifts.
