Does this actually work? If so what is the best method? Should I say each word once and then constantly repeat it, or should i say each word several times? Should i use my own voice or a computer simulated voice?? Thanks

Actually, I have heard of this before. Yeah, I've tried it and I think it does work as a matter of fact. I would prefer if you recorded it in your own voice, though. But do remember that you can listen to it while you're awake too. Maybe if you don't have time to sit and study, listen to it while you work out or do the chores or play with the pets. Whatever. So I think it's a really good idea, but nobody learns in the same way. If this doesn't work for you, at least you're tried it.

The theory that you can learn a subject better listening to a recording while sleeping is an old one. It dates back to at least the early 1960's.

There's no harm in trying it if you want but it's probably bunk and I think that's what you're going to find out.

A better method of learning new vocabulary is too keep a log (or logue). Whenever you hear a new word you don't know used by someone, in person, on television or on the radio, write it down in your log in the original sentence it was used.

Sometimes you can tell what a new word means simply by the context it was used in. . In that case, there's really no need to look it up in a dictionary.

If you still have doubts, then you can consult the dictionary.

Simply write the dictionary definitions down in your log along with the new word and the sentence it was used in.

I think that you will increase your vocabularly more effectively that way.

Don't ever take the sleeping pills route!!

1. They will damage your liver big time and you can get into serious health problems.

2. You will get hooked up on them and you won't be able to have a normal life any more if you don't take your pills everyday.

The sleeping pills industry is damaging our health by capitalizing on our ignorance, and by distracting people from effective and natural ways to deal with this problem. I had been taking prescription sleep medications [Ambien] for over 5 years. It stopped working and I simply took more. Still did not work. Nights were very difficult - medication put me to sleep but I would wake up after 2–3 hours with a strong sympathetic response (fast pulse, pounding heartbeat, wide awake alert). It was a very difficult cycle to break. I was really in bad shape due to lack of sleep.

After years of struggling I was able to cure my insomnia naturally and pretty fast. I followed the Sleep Tracks sleep optimization program, here is their official web -site if you want to take a look: http://www.insomniacure.net

Ohhh..and Good Luck!

Not always but very often. BQ: No, I don't listen to music while sleeping since I usually get up after some minutes and can't sleep for long with music.

i've tried that, &
1. i didnt sleep to well w/ headphones in my ear
2. the sleep that i did get had some weird bad dreams in them.

try studying while you're AWAKE.
like when you're thinking, use your vocab.
like if you're learning spanish for example, instead of thinking "i'm hot" be like, "tengo calor"
or your walkin around, you see a house, to yourself be like "casa", see a woman think "mujer", see a man "hombre" .
just do that w/ whatever langauge it is ur studying.
or study w/ a native speaking friend

Apparently it does, because your brain is still awake even though you are asleep, it can still listen and you take in all of the words when you are asleep.

Try it, you never know.
