I hurt my foot jumping out the back of the bus on bus evac day.

I landed wrong on my foot, and it turned purple and so did my pinky toe. The pain has been horrible.

My parents won't take me to the doctor because they say the school only said that to cover their asses.

I know it is not broken because I can bear weight and bend it forward.

I have been icing and heating it and taking anti inflamatorys. .

Anything you think it could be?

I can't stay off of it because I have school and it is crucial that I go to every class.

Well I broke the bone on the outside of my foot when jumping off a low wall. If I walked funny I could bear weight. I could also bend my foot. It turned blue and so did my little toe but because I could manage walking somehow (even though it hurt like crazy) I thought it wasn't broken. After three days I got an xray and found out it WAS broken and I got a foot to knee cast and then that made a lot of difference.

Go to your school nurse and tell them the problem (again, if necessary). Since it happened on school property the school should be responsible for medical expenses: at least that's how it works where I live. Tell the nurse right out that your parents won't let you go to the doctor. They are probably afraid of the expense. Tell the school to call your parents and calm their fears about expense involved or explain to them how it works. Your parents might not have all the facts. If the school explains to them how the system works, then they will probably let you go to the doctor. Anyway, go tell the authority figure(s) at school and they should help you work it out. Sometimes you have to be assertive about taking care of yourself! Go for it!

You could have sprained your ankle or foot. You also could have broken the bone on the outside of your foot (5th metatarsal). Icing it is good. Do not heat the area!!! That only increases swelling to the area.

Going to the doctor to get an x-ray to rule out a fracture (break) is a good idea, especially if it has been a few days from when you hurt it and it is still causing a lot of pain.

Do not put heat on it, only ice, put ice on for 20 min on and 40 min off, do not go more than 20 min at a time or you get the reverse effect, also get an ace wrap and wrap it up, this will give it support and protection. You have a bad sprain.

You sprained it, and your parents are being dumb. Do you have a school nurse who can try to talk sense into them?

Icing is good. So is taking anti-inflammatorys, as long as you don't overdose.

Keep that foot raised as much as you can.

The last time I sprained my foot like that, it took about 3 days for it to be really usable again- and even that was with caution.

Good luck!
