The 'quality' of the HDMI cable has zero effect on the picture. The digital nature of the signals are very insensitive to the cable.

Nobody can tell you what numbers to use. Get or rent a copy of "Avia", "Digital Video Essentials" or 'Sound and Vision setup DVD'. These disks have a tutorial on how to set the color, brightness, contrast.

The interaction between the electronics in the TV, and the external source (CATV, DVD, xBox, Sat) has different electrical voltages and signal levels. You kind of have to set these values differently for each source.

If you have a Disney DVD, there's a "setup" option with a THX Optimizer. Use it. It really works.

Good luck!
