I was a very dark brunette with almost black looking hair naturally.the only and best way to do it is not to go completly blond at first becuase youll want to do very thick blond highlight(full head) atleast go in one month and do it and repeat the same process the next month and when you go in for the third time tell the hairdresser you want it completl blond.because if you do it all at once it will not be the blond you want and its hard for darker hair to take lighter colors so.I recommend go to a perfessional because when you do it at home it doenst have the blech additives and is lower grade then proffesional products and when you put at home kits in hair it tends to be on the brassy orange side.Go to a proffesional and tell her exactly what you want and she can do it

I have very dark brown hair and I have taken time to bring it up to full blond. But Born Blond by Clairol with the added extra blond tube of blue works well.I just used it on my black roots that were like two inches and it came out perfect and then at the end I put it on my hair for five minutes and bam it came out great .So read the package of Born Blond and go for it you have to use something with bleach so be careful.

Accept your beautiful natural color and buy some hair accessories to brighten your look. Dark Brown cannot be blonde with excessive damage, expensive and frequent follow-up to hide roots. Your skin and eye color have a lot to do with how good a hair color looks and if dark brown is what you have - embrace it. Put on a blonde wig and ask someone you trust to tell you the truth.

call a hair salon ahead of time and see what they say. They can give you the best advice. you might have to dye your hair a lighter brown, then a dark blonde, medium blonde, then blonde.

Unfortunately the skeleton of your natural hair is red orange and that will be the color that is remaining after your artificial color starts to fade. Also think about the condition of your hair. I would suggest Highlights to give it a lighter appearance and go to a trained professional colorist such as me to have it done. Don't be cheap. . . . you will get what you paid for.

When I got some of my hair dyed blonded at the salon it looked kind of orange at first and they had to use toner to make it real blonde.

You will have to get it professionally done there is no way you can do that yourself w/o having spots and an orange head.

use any color you want within 2 shades of your own, but make sure the color name has "ash" in it, this has a green tint that neutralizes any red tones.
