First, set a weight loss plan for yourself and pace it... no crash dieting! This site is really good for setting up an individual plan: www.myfitnesspal.com . Go and set up your free diet profile and it will tell you how many calories you need per day to loose the weight you want, how many times you should excercise, how much intensity, etc. The beauty is you can pick to excercise none or a lot, and it still works. It also has a calorie counting journal that you can track your progress in. Besides that, some general rules: 1) Don't eat after 7:00. 2) Chew more. It takes the stomach 20 minutes to send the message to the brain that you are full. The longer it takes you to eat, the less you will eat. 3) Eat 6 small meals/snack a day instead of the regular 3 large meals. 4) When you get the urge to eat something, wait 10 minutes. You may find your not even hungry anymore. 5) Good luck, and don't push it. Your height, you should probably weigh a minimum of 125, no lower.

Do what I did...

Cut out all fast food from now until then.
No soda. Not even diet.
Drink water and only water.
No bread.
Lots of veggies and fruits. Think salads with tuna/chicken.

Exercise 3-5 days a week. If you have a treadmill at home, use it. Speed walk or jog. Push yourself and really work up a sweat. Stretch before and after.

Start doing push ups and sit ups. Even if you can only do 2 at a time. Do those throughout the day and you will be able to do more eventually.

Weigh yourself once a week for motivation. If you slip up, don't give up. After a while though, you want to rely more on measurements than weight because you'll begin to build a little bit of muscle.

Have fun and don't over do it. Know your limits, but push 'em a bit. Good luck.

At your age I recommend talking to your doctor first. Try to be more active, take up running/jogging 30 minutes a day or some type of cardio. Cardio is a great way to burn calories and it is good for your heart. Second, cut out junk food, period (drink water, or occasional diet drink). Eat more vegtables, fruit, and whole grains...if you eat meat stick to eating fish or chicken breast. Also watch your calorie intake, too many calories a day is what causes weight gain. 2000 is the recomended daily allowence. To lose weight you have to eat less than that (never go under 1200 calories daily though). Avoid atkins or high protein diets, they can cause kidney damage. Hope this helps. On that diet you will probably lose around two lbs. a week.

well the first thing to do is to make alist or what to eat, do exercise at least 3 times a week. The fastes way to loose weight is cutting on sugars and fat. It's easy to loose way the problem is to maintain your weight. Try to check the calories and carbohydrates.
1.exercise at least 3 times a day fast walking is the best way to loose fat. and drink a lot of water.
2.-have to eat 5 meals. morning 7 or 8 am get a 6oz juice grape, orange or apple. 10:00am get a banana or somenthing small (fruit) and plenty of water 1:00pm a reagular meal like a salad and a grilled chicken. make sure everything you eat is boiled or grilled for better results. 3pm eat your snack any kind like granola bar or some protine bar you find them on jamba juice. And the last meal make sure you eat your meal 4 hours before you go to bed remember always try to keep you meals in small portion. and you will see quick results.

You're 14, so the best thing to do is eat healthier and exercise.

if you are a big candy, ice cream, and junk food lover, cut back and try to switch to something else when you snack! compromise by having Skinny Cows or sugar free popsicles.

of course, eat lots of veggies and fruits and protein... like low fat yogurt! chicken salads with low fat dressing make great healthy meals! eat slower, you'll get full faster and won't overeat.

walk, jog, swim, go to the gym and try different machines, sign up for yoga or kick boxing, or take harder and longer biking routes! running burns calories faster than biking does! also, do ab exercises like regular crunches.

it will keep you motivated if you work out with a friend, or if you buy like a "Shape" magazine, they have lots of tips.

also, don't drink liquid calories, it's like a black hole! no more soda or sugary juice! stick with water or seltzer.

here's a sample day with meals/exercises:
BREAKFAST- a bowl of cheerios with skim milk, a low fat yogurt, a banana
LUNCH- a ham sandwich on whole wheat bread with whatever veggies you want on it, an apple, bottle of water, and a handful of peanuts
DINNER- chicken salad with lowfat dressing
20 minute walk

dont think of the word "diet" This is what will make everything fail.

some basics:

You want to eat healthier and achieve goals. Depending on your goals, you focus macros on X amout of protein, X amount of carbs, X amount of essential fats.

Do circuit training, low weights, high reps. If you are very much overweight, you want to talk to your doctor first to ensure your cardio and heart can take it.

2-4lbs per week is healthy weight loss. Although you might loose 10lbs in one week depending on water weight, etc.

eat 5-6 meals a day. Lots of greens and fiber. Take at least a multivitamin and omega 3-6-9 (NOW makes a good supplement).

Goodluck

First, I don't think you need to lose 30 pounds.

However, your best bet is to eat a balanced diet with enough calories to sustain your activity. AND exercise. Go for a 30 minute walk every morning. As you get used to that, increase your pace and/or your distance. The Combination of sensible eating and exercise will get you to your bodies perfect weight the fastest and safest.

try this:

-get 20 minutes of exercise daily
-drink 60 ounces of water daily

now this is the IMPORTANT part
u may think it wont work but i lost 20 pounds in 2 months this
way

u have to throw off your body....
one day you eat a whole bunch like 4-5 times a day, but it still has to be healty (some good foods to try would be any kind of fish, meat [not red] and baked chicken)
then the next day barely eat anything like only breakfast (which is a key item of this [try eating 1/2 of a grapefruit and a bowl of otemeal]) and dinner

see what this does is your body can never predict what u will eat from one day to the next so it just automatically burns the same amount of calories as the day before

this really works trust me i love it and im still goin for it

Ummm...that's going to be really hard. Try eating a lrage breakfat, a mid-size lunch, and a small dinner with a fruit 2 hours after dinner. Exercise every 2 days by running at least 15 minutes, and taking 30 minutes walks. Do pushups and situps to strengthen yourself.
